Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
to her its just like summoning a dagger. All Servants can summon their weapons. That Pegasus is just something that Rider has summoned, and it does not have a true name.
For Rider, that Pegasus is just like the dagger she uses.
In other wordsthat black cavalry has yet to use her Noble Phantasm.
This one is more elaborate.

That's not something invented by pop culture, though, or even by Renaissance artists and scholars.
"When her head was cut off, there sprang from the Gorgon the winged horse Pegasus and Chrysaor, the father of Geryon; these she had by Poseidon." (http://www.theoi.com/Text/Apollodorus2.html#4. PSEUDO-APOLLODORUS. The Library. Trans. James George Frazer.)

Medusa confirmed as a munchkin. Too bad she's not the GM's girlfriend (Saber), a GMPC (Iskandar, Karna), or the main villain (Gilgamesh).
Yes, I know that. But to me, it doesn't ties Pegasus to Perseus in any meaningful way. I mean, it just comes out of Medusa and flies away, not giving a fuck about the guy with the sword-scythe. If anything, it ties it to Medusa, wich is almost certainly why Nasu changed the identity of Rider during development, come to think of it.
.The replacement of Bellerophon as the tamer and rider of Pegasus by the more familiar culture hero Perseus was not simply an error of painters and poets of the Renaissance. The transition was a development of Classical times which became the standard image during the Middle Ages and has been adopted by the European poets of the Renaissance and later: Giovanni Boccaccio's Genealogia deorum gentilium libri (10.27) identifies Pegasus as the steed of Perseus, and Pierre Corneille places Perseus upon Pegasus in Andromède. Modern representations of this image include sculptor Émile Louis Picault's 1888 sculpture, Pegasus.
I can see Iskander and Karna as GMPC's but I figured Kotomine was the villain and Gilgamesh was a PC from the previous campaign whose player just happened to be a giant That Guy.

Association alone can make something a Noble Phantasm of a servant.

Okay, okay, I was wrong; he can ride Pegasus by association, apparently. Tough I still maintain that calling him its "first master" is pushing it.
Semiramis built the city of Babylon but for some reason she can use Hanging Gardens.
Ishtar Gate would've made a better NP
Semiramis can use the Hanging Gardens because people mistake her as the one who built the gardens. I actually would have had no idea she wasn't the one who built the Gardens if it weren't for Fate, considering the school I went to taught us that she was the one who built them...

Well, technically, the Pegasus's brother Chrysaor rode it first. He just wasn't its master.
