Class: Caster
Alternate Classes: Berserker
True Name: Mwindo
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Armament: Conga scepter
Manifestation Cost: Extreme

(picture of hero)

Bio:
Mwindo:

Parameters
Strength: D++
Endurance: D+
Agility: C+
Mana: EX
Luck: A++
NP: A++

Class Skills:

Territory Creation B
Caster was told to create and harvest a banana grove as part of a challenge by the god of the underworld. To accomplish this, Caster had his tools animate themselves and planet the grove for him. With this skill Caster can replicate this feat, creating a banana grove that allows for the replenishment of his mana and can be used to produce weapons from the wood.

Personal Skills:

High Speed Divine Word: A
Caster is able to use High Thaumaturgy with a Single Action spell, of most kinds.

Affections of the Goddess: EX
Caster came across the disfigured Kahindo, goddess of good fortune, and with her advice was able to avoid the tricks of her father Muisa. His heart went out to her and he cleaned her of her scabs, and was taken aback by her beautiful form as she applied red powder and castor oil. In the end, the two slept together, and before Caster was even born he had been given a bag of good fortune by Kahindo. Alas, Caster didn't marry her, for he wanted to marry in his own village.

Caster has a rank up in all his physical stats stats and a plus modifier. His luck has two plus modifiers as well, given Kahindo is the goddess of good fortune.

Supernatural Power: A+
Caster has the ability to freely move around and levitate object if he so pleases. This extends to any items he doesn't possess as well. This skill is not the fragment of the power of a god, but Caster's own skill from his own power, something he has possessed since before his birth.

Natural Body: A
Since before Caster was born, he was no ordinary man. Not only was he born walking and talking, as his name means, but he also was able to preform magical art before he was even born, and emerged from his mother's middle finger of his own violation. He has a plus modifier to his strength.

Noble Phantasms:

Mwindo Reforged: A+

Anti-Unit (Self)
In life, according to one version of his story, Caster had his whole body reforged into iron by his uncles so he could face his father. This Noble Phantasm is his own body, now completely forged of iron. When activated, Caster can get around the container stats of his class and raises his physical stats two ranks, his whole body becoming iron that now grants him the ability to do battle on even ground with the most formidable opponents.

Conga Scepter of Mwindo: A++

Caster's primary weapon is an actual living being much like himself, and his closest friend. It is his ever faithful companion, and was forged inside his mother's womb alongside him.

The Conga Scepter is a fly swatter for kings, and behaves much like one in this regard. Caster may instruct it to attack his enemies, swatting them with such force that they are killed in one blow in much the same way it killed a god in one blow then brought that same god back to life. If Caster swings the conga scepter, anything that he feels is an annoyance will be swatted away like a fly, including Noble Phantasms and Servants. Should Caster be killed, his loyal companion will bring him back to life. However, it may only do this twice. Against Servants with Divinity, the conga scepter’s power increase in relation to the Servant’s rank of Divinity. When swung against a living being, the conga specter will emit a massive burst of prana.

Nkuba's Seven Lightning Bolts: A++

Anti-Army

The seven divine lightning bolts hurled by Nkuba, each summoned by Caster for battle. These bolts will take the form of seven floating balls of lightning, and Caster can manipulate them as he pleases in battle, changing their form into anything he sees fit, creating axes, swords, shields etc. These have been given to him by Nkuba, of course, for Caster's own use. When used at full power in one blow, Caster can obliterate an entire army.

However, there is a catch. Should Caster ever kill an innocent unjustly directly or indirectly, he will be robbed of this and Mwindo Reforged, resulting in him losing much of his power.

Class
: Rider (also qualifies for Saber and Lancer)

True Name: Marko Mrnjavčević

Alignment: Lawful Good

Parameters:

Strength: A+
Endurance: B
Agility: B
Magic: C
Luck: E
Noble Phantasm: B

Skills
Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: A-
A skill that grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Cancel spells of A-Rank or below, no matter what High-Thaumaturgy it is. In practice, the Servant is untouchable to modern magi, so it would not be an exaggeration to title the Servant a 'Magus Killer'. Oh, but for some reason, one will often see a spell slipping through and affecting Rider as if his Magic Resistance didn't exist. Rider himself will only get nervous and change the topic if you try to ask him about it, so the most helpful thing to do is pretend nothing happened. In Rider's case, no protection is offered against magic that targets the mind.

Riding: B-
A Class Skill of Rider and Saber class Servants, denoting the ability to ride mounts and vehicles. Most vehicles and animals can be handled with above average skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, for they are no exception. However, cannot ride the likes of Phantasmal Species such as Monstrous Beasts. That being said, even though his rank is decent, Rider will refuse to ride anything besides his beloved horse. "Only he is fit to carry me and my hundred ton mace!" he will proclaim, again and again and again.

Personal Skills:

Protection of the Fairies: C++
A blessing from Elementals; the capacity to increase one's Luck in dangerous situations. Activation is limited to battlefields, where it is possible to perform feats of arms. Despite this skill, Rider's Luck remains low. Since his blessing comes only from a certain specific spirit, it appears she must first be appeased before she will grant it. On the other hand, if sufficiently motivated, said spirit might decide to directly intervene herself, snatching enemy arrows out of the air and summoning hurricane-level winds to blow back foes. She will even whisper helpful advice into Rider's ear or scold him for getting distracted in battle, like an exasperated sister that feels responsible for her brother's mess despite having nothing to do with it. Oh, and if he ever falls for a troublesome woman, she'll slap some sense into him until he apologizes.

Natural Body: A
A skill denoting the possession of a perfect body as a living being since birth. Grants a plus modifier to Rider's STR. Furthermore, even without training, he's still beyond brawny. No matter how many calories he ingests, his body shape will not change. Rider descended from spirits without a body, yet for some reason this is the result. That being said, one might occasionally hear Rider complaining of joint pain or chafing from wearing armor. Despite having a Natural Body, he doesn't seem to be very good at using it.

Guilty Hero: A
An attribute possessed by Servants whose true history and existence have been distorted by the positive reputations and gossips they accrued across the course of their life and thereafter, without concern for the actual person's will or appearance. As a consequence, the Servant's abilities and appearance have been rendered to conform to the specifications of their legend. In Rider's case Guilty Hero is largely responsible for his fighting power. It may be sealed if Rider is bested in battle or demoralized, causing him to lose access to his mount and Skills except for Military Tactics, and suffer three ranks down to all physical parameters. As compensation he will obtain low ranking Presence Concealment and this Skill will become Powerless Shell, requiring a Command Spell to reverse the transformation.

Military Tactics: E-
Tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where many are mobilized. Bonus modifiers are provided during use of one's own Anti-Army Noble Phantasm or when dealing against an enemy Anti-Army Noble Phantasm. This rank is sufficient for Rider to believe he has a chance. It is fortunate for him that he lacks an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm with which to embarrass himself.

Noble Phantasms
Šarac
Rank: C
Type: Anti-Unit

A noble steed nearly as large and imposing as Rider himself. A horse said to be quicker than any other, with a taste for wine and riches matching that of its rider.

Or so has been said. In reality Rider's horse was a humble piebald with no special lineage to speak of. Though it was dependable and trustworthy during life, its accomplishments were nothing special and it died with its rider. Thanks to the stories spread after Rider's death, Šarac has gained the ability to speak and the label of fastest in the world. The former symbolizes its intelligence reaching that of a man, granting it Eye of the Mind (True), and the latter is a limited form of Ultimate One applying only to speed, ensuring none can outpace it in a Grail War.

In some interpretations of Rider's legend, Šarac was a winged horse that could fly. It hasn't manifested with the traits of a pegasus in this particular summoning, but its leaping strength has been increased somewhat.

Though Šarac is capable of speaking, it rarely does so, seeming to dislike its owner. If that reservation is overcome and he proves himself worth of his steed, it may start whispering advice to Rider, granting him the benefits of its 160 years of battle experience.

Kraljević Marko: The Suffering Prince
Rank: A
Type: Anti-Self

The power that Rider holds is nearly all false, a creation of his people who suffered for 600 years under Ottoman rule after his demise. In that sense he is as substantial as the nursery rhymes told to young children. Even so, the hope that his name gave people for those long years is real. He let them endure, believing without cause that they'd one day be free again.

Normally such a situation would not be abnormal. After all, plenty of real historical figures have had their legends distorted. Rider is unique in that the original was not very heroic at all, and the exaggeration had such a great impact that it nearly took over his legend after his death. There is a fundamental incompatibility between the Rider of history and the one of legend, making his current existence as a Servant very fragile. Though Rider possesses the strength spoken of in poems and stories, his mind and soul are still that of the man who could not accomplish a single thing in life. As a result, his normal form is a compromise, where the body is held back by the mind and abilities are limited by their wielder.

There is a way to eliminate this weakness: the elimination of Rider himself.

The key difference between the mythical and the historical Rider is that the former died an inglorious death on the battlefield, while the latter lived over 300 years and died on his own terms, with some saying he never died at all and sleeps in a cave like King Arthur. Seizing on this mismatch, Rider can cleave himself in two by plunging his sword into his own chest, separating fact and fiction into two distinct Servants for a period of time.

Kraljević Marko represents that incongruity taking shape. The legend will keep its form and sustain itself using this Noble Phantasm while the man will revert to spiritual form, on the verge of death. Kraljević Marko is created with a specific goal in mind, and will thoughtlessly charge into battle like a Berserker for the purpose of accomplishing it. Its statistics are the same as Rider's, but all the negatives and weaknesses have been eliminated and turned into plus modifiers, and all physical parameters have been ranked up once. Being an empty shell, it cannot be killed by regular attacks and must be completely destroyed in one blow by something that can deal more than its maximum health in damage. As a continuously active Noble Phantasm, it will last as long as the Master can sustain it.

As for Rider himself, the symbolic wound required to activate Kraljević Marko is such that as Command Spell or equivalent ability must be used to heal him or his death will be inevitable. While Kraljević Marko is active his abilities will largely be sealed and he will be more akin to a wraith than a Heroic Spirit. Once it has ended or been destroyed, his borrowed strength will be restored to him.

This Noble Phantasm can also be activated if an enemy lands a lethal blow on Rider. Doing so will summon Kraljević Marko at full strength while Rider withdraws in spirit form, granting him a chance to be healed and survive.

Background
There are two tales to tell here: one of a young king that was given a fracturing country and did his best to hold it together, and one of an unstoppable legendary hero that could not be bested.

The King Marko of legend was born of a tyrant who sought to kill him and a vila spirit from the mountains. He rode a talking horse that drank as much wine as him, carried a Damascus steel saber and a mace as heavy as a man, and was blood brothers with a fairy. Large and strong, he struck fear into the hearts of his enemies and inspired his allies with his very presence. With a heart full of goodness, he was just and fair even to his enemies, but also cunning and quick-witted. Called a protector of the weak, he was a true Hero that fought against injustice and won.

Of course, that Marko never existed. His legend is a patchwork created by Serbian poets using elements of other stories to inspire a people under occupation.

The real Marko was the favored son of the King of Serbs, Vukašin, who was killed fighting the unbeatable Ottoman army. He left his lands to young Marko. Seeing a chance, the local regional lords jumped upon the weakened empire and seized vast chunks of Marko's territory for themselves. With no army to protect his land, Marko had no choice but to stand and watch as the empire he'd inherited from his father disintegrated before his eyes. In the end he was left a small territory and became a minor lord in what should have been his kingdom. Certainly, he couldn't be called a king anymore.

Even then, that was fine. Marko reasoned that if the other lords protected the people, it didn't matter if he wasn't ruling over them. He accepted his unfortunate situation and quietly ruled over what he had, building churches and investing in infrastructure to ensure his people prospered.

Then the Ottomans returned, with an army thrice the size of the one that had annihilated the Serbian Empire's greatest fighting force. Marko quietly became their vassal. Better to capitulate and live than resist and have his people pillaged.

The rest of his life was spent serving the same people that had killed his father and fractured his empire. Marko grew old without doing a single heroic thing. While those around him resisted in vain and were slaughtered, he was able to swallow his pride and bend the knee, keeping his lands and people healthy if not happy. Eventually a day came when the Ottomans warred with the nearby Wallachians, and they called upon him as a vassal lord. Marko would have to wage war against Christians like himself, former allies that had resisted the Ottoman rule where he had not.

Marko died that day. It was a small battle of little consequence, in which his death was at most a footnote. His lands were annexed and combined with others by the Ottomans after his death, and the royal line of Serbia ended not with a bang but with a whimper.

In a way, that may have been Marko's wish. Upon seeing the army arrayed against him on the eve of his death, Marko told one of his few friends: "I pray the Lord to help the Christians, no matter if I will be the first to die in this war."

It may be that he was happy to have finally done something to help his countrymen, even if it was only dying on the wrong side of the battlefield.

Description
The hero Marko is loud and boisterous, cunning and quick-witted, with a sharp tongue and a heart of gold. He can be compared to someone like Sakata Kintoki, a grown child that dutifully listens to his mother and can't stand unfairness. He can't stand injustice and is quick to intervene on the side of the innocent even if it would cause trouble for himself. He is a great drinker and eater and loves all the joys of life without restraint.

Having said that, the King Marko is a quiet and pessimistic person. Eschewing the image of a nobleman, he dresses in plain clothes and wears no jewelry. In terms of hobbies he prefers prayer to sport and would rather build monasteries than draft armies. Be they a peasant or noble, he will treat all with the same respect and hear them out seriously. Rarely does he insult or compliment, preferring to let others draw their own conclusions. In negotiations he is hopelessly inept and usually ends up on the back foot, though afterwards one might realize that he somehow manages to accomplish his goals anyway.

A subversive and pathetic politician, and yet for some reason, Marko is very easy to love.

Despite lacking Skills like Charisma and not being a skilled orator by any means, Marko was adored. He built roads and churches and lowered taxes as much as possible, thinking that it was only common sense to ease the strain on a people whose hopes at been dashed. He earnestly did his best with what little he had, mingling with commoners in an attempt to understand them as if it was normal. Somehow under his rule his people prospered. The sense of distance and awe that a regular hero exudes can't be seen; he is approachable and warm, comforting others without meaning to.

In that sense he is "someone who, upon being seen trying hard, will somehow gather a crowd of people to cheer him on". A bumbling person that had no idea what he was doing and for that very reason managed to garner an infamously high approval rating, becoming more popular than a perfect king like Arthur ever could have. Perhaps that's the reason why, after his death, his people continued to adore their king and crafted legends about him. Even if Marko's personality and actions were third-rate, his behavior was not.

Marko himself is completely unaware of his charms and only considers himself a failure. He would never compare himself favorably to any real hero. Despite this he won't hesitate if someone asks for help. Self-deprecating he may be, but the one thing that both the legend and the historical figure have in common is an unwavering heart filled with justice.

His wish too is humble and immeasurably foolish: Marko believes he is inferior to the version of himself portrayed his legends, and hopes to change history so that the lie can become true. He never realized until the end that his own merits were what created that legend in the first place.

I was working on 2.0 of this guy, you stole my chance jk
i like that you represented his historical side more than me. The sheet in itself good quality. but i have to ask, could his Mythological side be independently summoned as a full fledged servant, or is his mythological side more like sasaki kojiro in nature?

Probably totally doable to just summon his mythological side. Perhaps as a Saber or Lancer he'd be purely the man of myth. I just read Marko's Wikipedia article and liked the contrast of this epic poetic figure with a dude who accomplished nothing of note in real life. There's a bit of tragedy there. 600 years of oppression so bad that people resorted to turning Marko of all people into their hero.

- - - Updated - - -

Then again, if they picked him over others, maybe Marko was a better king than I gave him credit for.

- - - Updated - - -

Continuing, Myth version wouldn't have military tactics. Probably a variation of bravery or eye of the mind as a mental skill. Ravijolja would be a NP instead of a skill. Get rid of the minuses on the other skills too. Basically just a complete powerhouse from start to finish.

Then again, the same name (Marko) might just be a coincidence or something, that was my justification for making a purely mythological sheet of him as my first sheet here

it is/was my first sheet though, so its probably lackluster, will take note when i rework him

I was really impressed by WhatShouldNotBe's Servant sheet, especially the relationship chart. I tried to do something similar, but the results were rather lacklustre when I realized that there wasn't much to say about it. As for the rest, I hope I did a decent job at the very least. I can deal with criticism, but if it's too bad don't destroy my confidence

Attila the Hun

Class: Archer

Alternate Classes: Rider, Berserker

True Name: Attila the Hun

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Parameters:
Strength: C
Endurance: B
Agility: A
Mana: C
Luck: A

Class Skills

Independent Action: B

The capacity of Servants to subsist without a Master. Capable of remaining in this world for two days without an established contract. Also capable of living on for a short period of time after suffering extensive damage on his spiritual core. A Skill most suited to Archer, who is unlikely to obey his Master's every order if he finds them foolish; regardless of compatibility, he will simply act as he pleases.

Magic Resistance: D
Grants protection against magical effects. Differently from the Resistance effect that merely rejects prana, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Cancel Single-Action spells, it's a protection equivalent to an amulet that rejects magical energy. Magi can be tricky and annoying to deal with, so Archer prefers to wipe them out from afar. It is not cowardice, for the only honor existing on the battlefield is not insulting your opponents by holding back.

Personal Skills

Charisma: A

The natural talent to command an army. Increases the ability of allies during group battles. A rare talent. At this rank, it is the highest level of popularity a human being could normally reach. A great commander and leader, capable of inspiring loyalty even amongst different tribes from his own. Beloved by his comrades, respected by his allies and feared by his enemies, Archer's power of personality was such that it could hold together an unorganized empire; his premature death spelled its almost immediate collapse.

Disengage: A+
The ability to withdraw from combat. So long as there is enough magical energy, Archer can retreat even in the most unfavourable conditions and reach a safe location to heal. Bonuses to defence are gained while fleeing, and a chance to launch a surprise attack on the opponent if they attempt to pursue. Also has the ability to return an unfavourable battle to the first turn and releasing the user of this Skill from status ailments. Perhaps the one Heroic Spirit who most deserves this ability at such a high rank: Archer's hit-and-run tactics have been immortalized as brutally effective and his army's temporary retreats were not welcomed with relief, but instead fear as they were the prelude to another massacre. Archer would scoff at those who accused him of cowardice. After repeatedly allowing the enemy to flee and failing to pursue them, how does one hold the right to complain of their loss?

Military Tactics: B
The tactical knowledge used not for one-on-one combat situations, but for battles where many are mobilized. Archer is among the greatest generals. He can assess battlefield conditions quickly with limited information and enact simple strategies without needing to plan. Bonus modifiers are provided when using his Anti-Army Noble Phantasm or when dealing with an enemy's Anti-Army Noble Phantasm. Although vilified as an uncivilized barbarian, Archer was undoubtedly a natural-born genius; perhaps it would not be an understatement to define him as born to wage war. Archer's already devastating Noble Phantasm is further empowered by this Skill.

Projectile (Javelins): A
The expertise for throwing projectile weapons; in this case, javelins. At this rank, the thrown projectile weapons are comparable to anti-tank rounds. Even for the Saber-class, it is not something that can casually be blocked or parried. Upon summoning, Archer is provided with 10 javelins and more can be crafted using magical energy. Yet another Skill which finds its roots from Archer's fighting style, it's the opening salvo which anticipated the destruction of civilizations. Archer begins most battles with a devastating blow that leaves the target disoriented. If they survive, it merely means that more javelins are needed. He would not hesitate in unleashing his Noble Phantasm after that. One might say that Archer's ruthless speed of action is more dangerous than any other ability he holds.

Riding: A
The ability to ride mounts and vehicles. All vehicles and animals can be handled with exceptional skill, even vehicles that did not exist in the time period one was alive in, except Phantasmal Beasts and Divine Beasts. If Archer were to be summoned as a Rider, he would be able to display this Skill at a higher rank. Regardless of Class, he always materializes while riding a horse as it is integral to his fighting style.

Noble Phantasms

Göksel Kuşatma: Celestial Siege
Type: Anti-Army
Rank: A+

The crystallization of the relentless and overwhelming destruction brought forth by Archer's armies. The hordes attack and retreat, the hordes destroy and scatter, the hordes annihilate and converge. Each moment of respite is anticipated and followed by death; an assault that may temporarily cease but can't end until victory is attained. The defeated only saw an approaching rain of steel obstructing their view of the sky, as if a punishment from the heavens.

A "unique power" which qualifies the Heroic Spirit Attila for the Archer class. It's a "special method of attack" that doesn't require its true name to be invoked as it doesn't truly have one. On the other hand, two conditions must be met in order to activate the Noble Phantasm: Archer must attack with a ranged weapon and the target must be a living being in the sense that it can interfere with the world.

Whether it's an arrow, a javelin, a mere dagger or even a simple stone, this Noble Phantasm brings forth the might of the Huns by multiplying Archer's initial attack by a number limited only by the amount of magical energy he is willing to expend.

Upon activation, copies of the initial attack are conjured seemingly out of nothing from behind Archer and join the first shot to create a devastating strike that suffocates the enemy. Wielding a bow results in a volley of arrows and throwing a javelin summons a torrent of spears.

It demands magical energy proportional to the offensive power of the starting attack and the number of conjured replicas. Assuming that Archer fires an arrow and multiplies it by fifty, the cost would be extremely average when comparing it to other Noble Phantasms of similar power. On the other hand, a javelin throw multiplied by an equivalent number could easily obliterate even a first-tier Servant if a direct hit, but the mana cost would be phenomenal.

Flagellum Dei: The Scourge of God
Type: Anti-Unit
Rank: B

A Noble Phantasm deriving from the terrifying appellative that the Romans gave to Archer when he was alive. Considered an uncouth barbarian and savage destroyer, it was simply unthinkable to them that he could threaten the Roman Empire to such an extent.

Therefore, he must not be human but a calamity, one born to shake nations and destroy civilizations, sent to punish the foolish men who worship God and yet defy Him. Other historical figures were described in a similar manner, but only Archer's infamy is so great. He is "the" barbarian of western civilization.

When activated, this Noble Phantasm empowers Archer's offensive power in proportion to the "sins" the target commits against the World. Servants are anomalies that are constantly crushed by the World and magi defy it by practicing magecraft. Rather than "against the World", it would perhaps be more accurate that they act "against the common sense of man".

As the Scourge of God was a beast sent to raze human civilization, it is ideal against humans; Servants whose nature is divine or demonic provide Archer with a considerably weaker boost. It requires time to make a difference, but if utilized well it can eventually empower Archer to the point that even basic attacks will kill those with immense resilience.

Although apparently overpowered in theory, it is actually an extremely inefficient Noble Phantasm in the Archer class. Compared to the cost-effective Anti-Army Göksel Kuşatma, Flagellum Dei constantly consumes huge amounts of magical energy as long as it's active. While it indefinitely enhances Archer's offensive power, it is much more likely that he will die from the strain unless his Master is capable of providing large quantities of mana.

As an Archer, Attila is summoned as "the leader of the Huns", which is closer to his true self. If he were summoned as a Berserker, which represents his barbarian side as seen by western civilization, he would benefit much more from this Noble Phantasm. It would be constantly active, but the mana cost would become much more bearable.

Personality

A man of action that does not rush into it, aggressive but blessed with wisdom and caution. An illiterate with great intelligence and a lover of war who placed faith in both the strength of his arm and the cunning of his mind.

Even without considering the biased rumors surrounding his reputation, Attila was a man of contradictions. He showed no mercy to his opponents and crushed them utterly, yet occasionally acted in accordance to a code of honour. He pillaged cities and demanded tributes under the threat of extermination, yet lived humbly and rarely touched the gold he acquired. He made love to many women, but never laid with one he did not claim for himself only.

Perhaps not contradiction, but moderation. Attila indulges in pleasure but does not fall into vice. He understands the joy provided by the former and the fate the latter leads to.

As the leader of his tribes, it is his duty to bring prosperity and riches to his people. It is only natural to steal from others; just like amongst animals, the strong are the ones to prevail. Of course, while he does not believe that the world of animals overlaps with the world of men, he won't deny that the law of strength is the one absolute reality.

It is with this mindset that he killed hundreds of thousands of innocents without feeling remorse. At the same time, while he grieves over the death of his men, he does not blame their killers.

The battlefield is a chaos in which all sides participate and lose something. Here, Attila truly understands the meaning of freedom and does as he pleases, imposing his will upon others. It is the reason he continued to fight until his last breath.

From others he treasures, above all, honesty and loyalty. He doesn't lie to himself and act to his people's best interests, so he naturally expects the same from them. Traitors are made an example of and those who don't keep their words are beaten into submission: the arrogant Roman governor who believed himself an exception was torn apart and his city scarred beyond recognition.

He was loved, respected and feared by his subordinates. Attila intentionally cultivated a fearsome reputation to terrorize enemies and prevent betrayal from his allies, but the admiration the latter felt towards him far outweighed any negative opinion.

He may sound complicated, but is actually quite simple. A man who is neither a saint nor a devil, simply someone who follows his desires, just like boisterous conquerors and devious tyrants. He isn't evil, but certainly not good. A Master who treats him fairly and respectfully will be treated the same.

Due to his standards being rather vague, he will always feel dissatisfied when dealing with other Servants due to some aspect of their personality displeasing him. The only one he would have no issue with is an uncomplicated individual.

Relationship with other Servants

Altera: "An aimless woman... how pitiful."
His other "self" from a world where he did not ascend to his position as leader of the Huns. Attila would feel confusion and awkwardness upon meeting her, but actually knowing her better wouldn't yield good results. Women who fight well are rare, but one who wields that strength to destroy for the sake of destruction and fights despite not enjoying it can only be a target of contempt.

Iskandar: "A man easy to understand."
Fellow Conquerors. Unsurprisingly, they would get along well. Both lived to fulfill their desires, that's all. However, their ways of kingship are quite different, so it might be a point of conflict. Attila is unlikely to bring it up in the first place, though.

Gilgamesh (Archer): "Disgusting."
A King who drowned in vices, mistreated his subjects and failed to fulfill his duty as a leader. Needless to say, Attila dislikes him, although the feeling is mutual. Their Noble Phantasms are way too similar for the Golden King's super refined tastes.

Altria (Saber): "A King does his duty."
Shockingly, the King he would understand the most. She acted cruelly for her kingdom, dutifully governed it and was eventually betrayed. For Attila, who killed thousands for the sake of the Huns and always feared betrayal, the fate she met was an undeserved one. His attitude around her would be softer. Unfortunately, the King of Knights can't truly appreciate a man of ambiguous morality who can somehow bring duty and pleasure together.

I was really impressed by WhatShouldNotBe's Servant sheet, especially the relationship chart.
I really have even more relationships waiting to be written up. One for Tamamo, one for each of the Seibas, one for Gawain, and a bunch more. Once I have the time to do all that. *sighs*

Class: Berserker

True Name: Diogenes the
Dogged
Cynic

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Parameters:

Strength: C
Endurance: B
Agility: C
Magic: D
Luck: D
Noble Phantasm: D

Skills
Class Skills:

Mad Enhancement: C
The Class Skill that characterizes a Berserker, raising basic parameters and strengthening one's physical abilities in exchange for their sense of reason. At this rank, a rank up for all parameters except Luck and Mana is obtained, but in exchange, one can no longer think and speak properly. However, for Berserker, it seems he never thought or spoke properly to begin with, so his overall behavior hasn't changed. As his thought process was simple to begin with, he loses little. He might bark more often than would be considered normal, though.

Personal Skills:

World Creation: E
A composite skill of Item Creation and Territory Creation. Allows for the creation of both terrain and items that are advantageous to oneself as a magus. The advantage over having both skills separately is the ability to give an item properties of a territory and vice versa, allowing for exploitation of boundaries. At high ranks it can create effects similar to Reality Marbles. In the hands of a skilled Caster, it's a cheat-like Skill that places them in the first-class. Berserker, on the other hand, uses it to summon a big pot. A durable pot that confers substantial protective effects when used as shelter and boasts high-level durability, but still... it's a pot.

Counter Hero: B
A skill that reduces the parameters of the statistics of 'heroes' that the Servant faces in combat. It is featured as a Class Skill of the Saver Class. In the case of Berserker, it is most effective against those wielding authority and power. Less specialized than a certain Caster's anti-King Skill, it nonetheless allows Berserker's crude behaviour to be seen as endearing instead of insulting. Efficacy increases with the amount and ranks of certain Skills the enemy might possess, including Charisma, Military Tactics, and Divinity. Someone as prideful as a certain King of Heroes might even profess admiration for Berserker, describing him as a 'good boy'.

Human Dialogue: A
A rare Skill conferring communication of intention with humans that do not speak a 'language of the body'. At this rank, Berserker is capable of speaking eloquently as if he were human, even while under the effects of Mad Enhancement. In fact, he may understand most humans better than they understand themselves. But if his intelligence is limited, how could he have learned to speak so well in the first place?

Noble Phantasms
Olive Burial: Due to the Dead
Rank: E
Type: Anti-Unit

An elaborate walking staff carved from an olive branch. On its body are written spells for protection in the divine words of the Age of Gods. In this particular summoning, a metal head has been affixed so that it may act as a hammer.

This Noble Phantasm is somewhat of a joke. Shortly before Berserker's death he once told his students that he would like to be thrown from the city walls like trash. Dismayed, they begged him to reconsider, describing vividly how his body would be torn apart by scavengers. After giving the matter some thought, Berserker then requested that a stick be thrown to him, so he might beat off predators.

In the end, the lesson Berserker sought to teach was turned against him by his students as a final prank. They stole a branch from the sacred olive tree of Athena and carved it into an elaborate walking stick that would autonomously protect Berserker's corpse from scavengers as it decomposed.

Having been summoned with Berserker, this walking stick is most often used as a crude club or toy with which to play fetch, and occasionally as a weapon. By calling on Athena, Berserker can activate the stick and set it to autonomously whack at a target. It is durable and costs nothing to use, but in the end it's just a very tough stick and can only accomplish so much. Should Berserker die, the stick will still incessantly attack its target until it is destroyed.

Cosmopolites: All the World Before Thee
Rank: C
Type: Anti-World

A proclamation that turned into a way of life, a legend, and finally a philosophy adopted by a large portion of the planet's populace.

In a time where one's birthplace and allegiance meant everything, Berserker was one of the first to stand up and declare himself a 'citizen of the world'. Unwilling to tie himself to a nation, he valued personal freedom and wished to sever himself from the ugly mess called society. He would embody this philosophy until the end, living on the streets, sleeping in a pot, and freely eating and relieving himself in the streets of Athens. To Berserker, a dirty alleyway and a sacred temple were one and the same.

As someone that 'cannot be tied down even by a King's command', Berserker is given a passive resistance to any ability that would attempt to limit his freedom. This includes magecraft and other supernatural abilities, rendering him near immune to encircling barriers or chains. A Commmand Spell, if used to restrict his actions, will have a minor effect at best. Any sort of authority that attempts to control his actions will find its will ignored, with only the Divine being an exception. The gods are the only governing power that Berserker sees as legitimate.

Cosmopolites can be consciously invoked in its active form only when Berserker feels his freedom is being impinged upon. Otherwise it requires a Command Spell to nudge him into using it. By howling into the sky, Berserker will momentarily shatter the idea of collective unconsciousness in the area. Vocally proclaiming his disgust for the nation state and its rulers, he will reduce any parameters or Skills gained through fame for all within earshot. This isn't enough to seal another Noble Phantasm, but those based on or enhanced by their users' fame will be ranked down for a few minutes.

The weakness of Cosmopolites is its indiscriminate nature and its user. Since Berserker is simple-minded, it's easy to manipulate him into using it and wasting valuable magical energy, or weakening a choice target.

It doesn't need to be mentioned, but you're never going to get him to sit, no matter how many times you say it.

Description
Berserker is an obstinate individual that highly values his simple life style. He eschews complex things like home and currency, preferring to live in the moment. To him, human inventions only serve to separate people from the beauty and virtue of nature. He prefers the simple joys of chasing after sticks and small animals, smelling fresh new scents, and basking lazily in the sunlight.

That is not to say he is foolish. On the contrary, Berserker enjoys baffling others with his straightforward views that cut through the complex web of delusions that human society uses to sustain itself. Thinks like manners or common sense are considered distractions to be methodically picked apart and discarded once it is discovered that there is no value to be found in them. To him, wisdom should be something that instantly justifies itself; if it fails to do so it must be false.

Berserker likes belly rubs, being scratched between the ears, and playing fetch. He also likes going on walks and biting annoying people. He doesn't like being leashed, or acknowledging his Master. In fact, he considers himself more of a Master than a Servant, and will frequently attempt to boss around the person he is contracted to. That is not to say he cannot be pleased. Just stick to simple sentences without any pretension behind them and he'll respond favorably. Something like "good boy" and "let's go beat up some Servants" will do just fine. Oh, but if you manage to intrigue him with wisdom that doesn't instantly shatter under his constant jabs, that would also do the trick.

Berserker doesn't have much of a wish for the Grail. Rather, he has desires, but they are all incredibly basic and prone to change based on his mood at the moment. He is as likely to wish for an infinite supply of bones to chew on as he is to ask for something of value.

He's just a crabby old mutt in the end, but if you can get on his good side, he'll fight and die for you.

Background
Diogenes was a Greek philosopher and one of the founders of Cynic philosophy. Also known as Diogenes the Cynic, he was born in Sinope, an Ionian colony on the Black Sea, in 412 or 404 B.C. and died at Corinth in 323 B.C.

Diogenes was a controversial figure. His father minted coins for a living, and when Diogenes took to debasement of currency, he was banished from Sinope. After being exiled, he moved to Athens and criticized many cultural conventions of the city. Diogenes modelled himself on the example of Heracles. He believed that virtue was better revealed in action than in theory. He used his simple life-style and behaviour to criticize the social values and institutions of what he saw as a corrupt, or at least confused, society. In a highly nontraditional fashion, he had a reputation for sleeping and eating wherever he chose and took to toughening himself against nature. He declared himself a cosmopolitan and a citizen of the world rather than claiming allegiance to just one place. There are many tales about his dogging Antisthenes' footsteps and becoming his "faithful hound". Diogenes made a virtue of poverty. He begged for a living and often slept in a large ceramic jar in the marketplace. He became notorious for his philosophical stunts such as carrying a lamp during the day, claiming to be looking for an honest man. He criticized and embarrassed Plato, disputed his interpretation of Socrates and sabotaged his lectures, sometimes distracting attendees by bringing food and eating during the discussions. Diogenes was also noted for having publicly mocked Alexander the Great.

After being captured by pirates and sold into slavery, Diogenes eventually settled in Corinth. There he passed his philosophy of Cynicism to Crates, who taught it to Zeno of Citium, who fashioned it into the school of Stoicism, one of the most enduring schools of Greek philosophy. None of Diogenes' many writings have survived, but details of his life come in the form of anecdotes, especially from Diogenes Laërtius, in his book Lives and Opinions of Eminent Philosophers. All that is available are a number of anecdotes concerning his life and sayings attributed to him in a number of scattered classical sources.

Diogenes: I DONT NEED TO READ SKILLS, NP ANYTHING. ONCE I KNEW WHO IT WAS IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!

Okay but on a more serious note I wonder if perhaps some of those parameters are appropriate. Correct me if I'm wrong here but I'd imagine his Endurance to be higher than Strength or Agility, while he isn't particularly remarkable for the latter two he was known to be hardy due to living rough. I certainly get the impression that this Berserker incarnation is a bit of a joke. I wouldn't have initially understood the role of counter-hero either but I can now certainly realise the rationale behind it, it makes perfect sense for Diogenes of all people. The walking stick is certainly funny (dammit, I shouldn't imagine Berserker moving around) although Cosmopolites is a great idea I feel you are overexpanding the idea that was really just defying the idea of a nation or ruler and instead effects all barriers... after all Diogenes acknowledged there were certain things he could not physically achieve, from my understanding he wasn't Gurren Lagann Pyrrho or something.

A fair point about the parameters. I'll swap around the values for Endurance and Agility/Strength.

Looking back on Cosmopolites, it does seem more like something Spartacus might have than the individualistic separation from society Diogenes espoused. I'll think of something appropriate to change the active effect to. Perhaps a negation of local fame boosts by temporarily weakening the idea of a collective nation.

True Name: John I of England
Class:
Assassin
Alias: Evil King John, John Sansterre/Lackland, many, many more

Minor details

Gender: Male
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Region: Britain
Origin: History

Likes: Wine, reading, hunting, gambling
Dislikes: the Pope, barons, those that (can) challenge him
Talents: Insults, gambling, being misunderstood
Natural Enemy: Richard Lionheart, Henry the Young King
Attribute: Earth
Traits: Male, Servant, Humanoid, Evil, King
Armament: Dagger.
Catalysts: A page of the original Magna Carta.
Parameters:

STR C
END C
AGI C
MA B
LU E
NP C
Class Skills

Presence Concealment E
A skill only gotten because of being summoned as Assassin.
Being not particularly robust and not at all trained in stealth, Assassin can only barely hide his presence as a Servant.
Personal Skills

Ira et Malevolentia B
The "right of the king to express anger at barons or clergy", a tradition of the Angevins excarbated by John's own personality. This meant difficulties in all sorts of bureacratic matters, requests, or honours. In addition, this also included possible fines, that could then lead to imprisonment or even exile. Allows Assassin to subject an opponent to "fines" in terms of mana consumption.

Being deeply suspicious of all those with the power or wealth to potentially challenge him, John never held back from imposing heavy fines, no matter who the victim was. Even William Marshal, one of the famous knights and barons held up as a model of utter loyalty, was subjected to fines.

Unworthy King
B+
A skill showing the Servant became a monarch and ruled a country by happenstance, not inheritance nor ability, and never was able to grow into the role. Assassin is popularly considered the worst English king to ever have ruled; in his lifetime, the empire his ancestors had built up collapsed, the barons revolted and sealed the Magna Carta, and ultimately he died of disentery in the middle of a civil war. His name was never used for another English king again.

This skill is like Charisma in that it allows him to rule over a country, but different in that his subjects will largely come to despise Assassin. Nonetheless, Assassin generally gets along with those of a seedier disposition. Whereas his older brother Henry surrounded himself with warriors like William Marshal and Richard with all sorts of extraordinary men like Robin of Loxley, John surrounded himself with relatively low-born "new men", often seen as uncivilized brutes, such as Faulkes de Breaute. Due to popular culture, these men can bring to mind the fictional characters of the Sheriff of Nothingham and sir Guy de Gisbourne.
Noble Phantasm

Carwennan Image
Thy Curse, Thy Title: Evil King John

Type: Anti-Unit
Rank: C
Range: Self
An unadorned dagger, speckled with rust as if bloodied and shoddily wiped clean. Its edges are dull, even soft. Despite sharing the name of King Arthur's legendary dagger, it has nothing in common with it. It is, at best, a shallow parody of the pale imitation that is his older brother's Excalibur Image.

This Noble Phantasm is the curse that is Evil King John - that is to say, it is every insult heaped onto Assassin. Every mocking title: Lackland, Sansterre, Softsword, Evil King John. Every time his name was spat like a curse. Every time he was compared to his brothers and found wanting. Every time time it was whispered he had unlawfully slaughtered a captive of his. Every single malicious thought, every single bit of ill will directed his way, deserved or not. This curse is, in a sense, the real weapon; the dagger is just the way by which it spreads.

Upon contact with the dagger and failing a difficult Luck check, the curse goes to work, worming its way into the Servant's spiritual core and poisoning them. Since the curse targets the "gap" left between the full Heroic Spirit and the Servant that was infected, this is an effect that cannot be truly defended against no matter the Servant, only slowed down. Not only does it leave its target in considerable pain, it also renders its targets more spiteful, slows their wits and dulls their thoughts.

Assassin himself is not affected by the dagger's effects, however. It is impossible to infect someone already suffering from that same poison.
Lore
The youngest son of Henry II and younger brother to Richard Lionheart. Originally, John was not intended to inherit the throne. However, his three older brothers William, Henry and Geoffrey died young, and Henry, Richard, and Geoffrey had instigated a number of rebellions against their father. Even so, Richard (by then known as the Lionheart) still became the king of England for 10 years before dying, at which point John was the only brother left.

Handed an empire that was exhausted because of Richard's endless warring, John's personality didn't help matters; he was irascible, frequently insulted those around him - in one notable instance, he mocked the unfashionable beards of the local Irish rulers, a fiasco he later blamed the viceroy for. In short, he was a man ill suited to be king, yet was forced into the role anyway.

Losing the Angevin territories in France in 1204, John attempted to regain these lands by reforming the common law system and rebuilding his armed forces. These reforms proved hugely unpopular, and eventually after returning from yet another war with France in 1214, the barons revolted over the fiscal policies and John's treatment of them. A peace treaty, the Magna Carta, was agreed upon a year later, but neither side complied with its conditions. Soon, civil war broke out, and John died of dysentery not much later, leaving his son Henry III with a wrecked England he too proved unable to control. In the end, John's grandson Edward Longshanks was the one to restore England to some semblance of peace.
Personality
A spiteful, mean, angry, and avaricious man. He tends to insult those around him - sometimes by accident, but most often on purpose. Likes wine, gambling, reading, but also loves the thrill of the hunt. In every sense, a hard man to get along with, and incredibly lonely as a result. Hidden deep, deep inside, however, is a man as capable of love as any other, and who misses his second wife rather dearly.
Relationships
Richard:
"Richard, I see you've finally gotten hold of those delusions of yours. Bah. While you were away gallivanting, I was plotting a coup, but when you returned, you only had pity for me. And then you had the nerve to go and die a while later and left me to clean up your messes."

Artoria Pendragon/Arthur Pendragon:
"So you're that king Richard kept blathering on about... I didn't see it then, and I don't see it now. Where's Lancelot, anyway? He at least knows how to have a good time."
Notes:
Since we don't have Richard's stats or skills yet as far as I know, John's stats are mostly based around those of Cursed Arm Hassan, but lower. CA seemed like a good guideline for both the time period and the Class.

This is an idea I've had in mind for a while, but was (as is the norm) never quite satisfied with. I think John's an interesting figure, but I didn't want to make him an innocent cinnamon roll who did no wrong nor the devil himself come to tyrannize Britain. The challenge was in making him understandable and sympathetic, but not excusing him. Tell me if I succeeded. I was toying with the idea of giving him the Magna Carta as a Noble Phantasm, too. In the end, I didn't, mostly because I couldn't find a way to work into the rest on a thematic level.

“The masses desired something greater. For reasons that weren’t their own they took up arms; some for their own truth, some for God, others for glory and wealth. The goal was a land where everyone was happy and peaceful, free of injustices. It couldn’t be helped but it was meaningless.I couldn’t give them happiness so I tried to give them peace of mind. Reasons to live, fight and die. Even I dreamed of a world I could make them happy.”

“That is my wish.”

Class: Lancer
Alternate Class(es): Saber
Alignment: Lawful Good

Height/Weight: 160cm/48kg
Likes: Hope
Dislikes: Leadership
Talent: Crusading
Natural Enemy: Herself
Attribute: Man
Traits: Humanoid, Servant, Female, Divine
Armament: Spear

Parameters:

STR: B
END: B
AGI: A
MGI: C
LCK: D
NP: A

Class Skills:

Magic Resistance: B
Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this ability cancels the spells altogether. Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for them to be affected.

Regardless of strong piety, Lancer was born far into the Age of Man and encountered no Mystery in life and so her potential has been reduced as a result

Personal Skills:

Crusader: A+
A title meaning 'anyone who fights strongly for a religious cause'. This skill increases ones parameters and combat capability when battling opponents outside the Western Cultural hemisphere. In the case of Lancer, her STR and AGI parameters are significantly boosted alongside her Instinct skill gaining a Rank-Up.

Due to the epithet ‘Crusader King’, gained due to being the most famous leader of the First Crusade from 1096 until its conclusion in 1099 with famous campaigns including the capture of Nicaea and Antioch alongside the march on Jerusalem, she possesses among the highest rank obtainable.

Divinity: E
The measure of whether one has Divine Spirit aptitude or not. At high levels, one is treated as a mixed race of a Divine Spirit, and the level declines when the Heroic Spirit's own rank as a Monster or Demonic Beast raises. It can also decrease due to one's dislike for the gods. Those who have A Rank Divinity or above has reached the Throne of Gods. It also has an effect which reduces special defensive values called 'purge defence' in proportion to the Divinity's Rank. It can break through Skills such as Protection of the Faith and Enlightenment of the Sacred Fig.

Lancer is not related to a Divine Spirit by blood. As a being regarded as the ‘Advocate of the Holy Sepulchre’ in times where where religious turmoil where the fear of the 'Wrath of God' was great, she has gained some very minor aptitude. She possesses some defence against the action of conceptual relics and Noble Phantasms based in the Divinity of God.

Instinct: B
The ability to instantly identify “the best personal course of action” during combat. Because this Skill allows for the prediction of trajectory, it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms. The Servant possesses a distinct sixth sense ensuring they are aware of the flow of battle, allowing them to react to a change in the flow before it is too late.

Riding: B
A skill traditionally belonging to the Saber and Rider class. Denoting the ability to ride mounts and vehicles. Rider-class Servants will typically possess a high rank. It is said that dragon type mounts are an exception, requiring a different ability other than Riding.

Traditionally depicted atop a horse and since 'knights' are soldiers who are proficient in mounted warfare, Lancer’s Rank in Riding is high. Chariots can be ridden the same way. Motorcycles and automobiles are treated as 'modern mounts', thus a high rank in Riding is also applicable. However due to neither being summoned as a Rider class servant nor having the fortune of having “Legends of Riding Phantasmal Species", the rank cannot be any higher.

Noble Phantasm

Defender of the Kingdom of Heaven
Advocatus Sancti Sepulchri

Type: A
Rank: Anti-Unit (Anti-Fortress)
Range: 1~99
Maximum Targets: 1 (800)

The Holy Spear belonging to Lancer. Not a Divine Construct in nature nor forged by inhuman hands, it originally existed as a simple weapon forged by men. However throughout years of combat fighting for faith, it gained the blessings of a certain Divine Spirit. It possesses no named connection to other holy swords and cannot be said to be a descendent of other famed weaponry as a result. Regardless of questionable familial history, in combat the blade gives off a shining light like other Holy Weaponry.

However that is not the true nature of the spear for it is the crystallisation of the achievements of the crusades and obtaining the Holy City. It materialises as a pillar of light erupting from the skies akin to an Orbital Strike once the True Name of the Noble Phantasm has been called forth. The strength of the attack is equal to her will to ‘Protect the Kingdom of Heaven’, safeguarding man on earth to reach her goal of ‘Ending Strife’. Her love and sorrow alike burns into this attack creating a Golden Blaze in her goal to reach the peace she never obtained in life. The Noble Phantasm’s nature is being that of ‘Ending Strife’, ironically a peace she never obtained in life.

It’s true function is that of an Anti-Fortress attack but due to Lancer’s desire to limit collateral damage, she has placed an imperfect seal upon the Noble Phantasm so it is instead designed to destroy a single person which she believes to be more appropriate for the more covert nature of a Holy Grail War. However should she feel it appropriate she can – with her master’s permission – temporarily revoke this seal to unleash her full power on her enemies.

Lore

Godfrey of Bouillon aka Godfreya was a Frankish knight and one of the leaders of the First Crusade from 1096 until its conclusion in 1099. At the peak of her legend and fame she was held up as an equal of King Arthur and Charlemagne.

Upon becoming ruler of Jerusalem, she famously rejected the title of ‘King’, declaring that Christ was the true king, preferring to be referred as ‘Advocate’ instead. She would become known throughout the world as the ‘Crusader King’.

Born in 1060 as the second child of Godfrey the Bearded’s first wife, she had fewer opportunities compared to that of her siblings and appeared to be destined to become another minor knight to some fat rich noble. However as fate would have it, her uncle died childless and named Godfreya as heir and became next in line for an important dutchy between the border of France and Germany. The Holy Roman Emperor of the time, Henry IV restricted these inherited lands as a test of loyalty but regardless of new inheritance being cut in two, she remained loyal and ended up having to win the dutchy for the Emperor. In 1095, Pope Urban II called for a crusade to liberate Jerusalem from Muslim forces and also to aid the Byzantine Empire which was under Muslim attack. In order to raise funds, Godfreya sold or loaned most of her land and with the recently acquired wealth created an army. Despite her seemingly lack-of-motive to join given she used up all her coin so that was not the issue, it wasn’t faith at first as she fought on the side of Henry IV against the pope but it became clear she preferred the life of combat to leadership or comfort.

In their progress through the Holy Land, some of the crusaders took a detour to find allies and supplies, and they ended up establishing a settlement in Edessa. Godfreya acquired Tilbesar, a prosperous region that would make it possible for her to supply her troops more readily and help her increase the number of followers. Tilbesar, like the other areas acquired by the crusaders at this time, had once been Byzantine; but neither Godfreya nor any of his associates offered to turn any of these lands over to the emperor. She arrived in Constantinople several months ahead of her allies as they had different goals. The Byzantine emperor wanted the help of the Crusader soldiers to recapture lands that the Seljuk Turks had taken. The Crusaders however had the main aim of liberating the Holy Land in Palestine from the Muslims and reinstating Christian rule there.

Godfreya’s command played an important role in the war, primarily in relieving vanguards and sacking enemy camps. She famously took part in the greatest sieges, winning Nicaea and Antioch before leading the march on Jerusalem which cemented her legend. Knowing she would be rewarded greatly for her victory she told the people and her religious leaders that she refused the title of ‘King’ saying "upon the plea that I would never wear a crown of gold where my Saviour had worn a crown of thorns" as an excuse but regardless Godfreya was made to rule and became burdened with glorious leadership. However despite her military and martial prowess it did not translate to government and was a poor ruler. Seeking peace for her soul and the people who were growing unruly she continued to campaign. At a situation where she was unable to directly expand her new territories through conquest, her impressive victory in 1099 and her subsequent campaigning in 1100 meant that he was able to force Acre, Ascalon, Arsuf, Jaffa, and Caesarea to become tributaries however the victory at Acre cost her life, either due to arrow or poison. Either way Godfreya cannot recall.

Character

Godfreya is a strong willed woman who speaks with absolute purpose, courageous and set upon winning the Holy Grail.

She has the sensibilities of a mature woman as well as a strong sense of justice. She will bring things that bring virtue and goodness closer, and will ascertain those that bring atrocity. Materialised in this world, she will take comfort in granting the wishes of the common people as best she can, considering the protection of her master as paramount but won’t risk the lives of innocent civilians needlessly and will even attempt to keep property damage to a minimum. However she takes joy in the little things too such as giving strangers directions or giving bartenders and waiter’s generous tips.

She is calm on serious matters, even when discussing the matters of her death, stating that “as someone only ever capable of war it was inevitable I die that war,” and has no regrets. Although preferring to maintain courtly graces and traditional chivalry, she understands war and that at times virtue must be sacrificed for victory, a fact she struggles with and is still trying to find a compromise that sits well with her. Being a poor leader in life, Godfreya joined the crusade to give her subordinates a dream to follow, a goal and a means to reach it. However no matter what she did, her people and masters always asked more of her, she fought harder for the people to give them peace they said they desired but it was never enough. Despite living for other people, she was lead on in such a way that no one could be satisfied. She doesn’t care about her death and would gladly die again to save her people.

She desires to be what the people of this land call a ‘Hero of Justice’ no matter what, when others fought for glory she fought to save man, fighting for her concept of justice for the masses and her peace which she never got in life. Summoned, her wish is to continue seek the ever distant land of peace and happiness.
In the war she will conduct herself cleanly; she won’t fight cowardly, she won’t lie to her master. Acts of betrayal and deception are unthinkable unless her master proves to be truly evil.

As a side note, she is absolutely awful at homemaking. You name it, cooking, cleaning, money management, gardening – she is catastrophic at all of them equally.

Creators Notes:

This was my application for the /Reclamation RP but didn't get in. Originally a Saber and more or less identical (except without the Divinity skill) but I retooled her class (still constrained to the RP's point system) and am now posting her here for archival purposes. She might seem like Artoria’s and EMIYA’s lovechild but let me explain.

Design – Lancer class servants are traditionally meant to be speedy and simple and I created her accordingly. To keep the Noble Phantasm and the Crusader skill the way it is, I reduced the skill levels for everything else, so she hits hard, especially against her preferred target and can take a beating at the cost of low MGI and LCK for the sake of balance. For the as I wanted Crusader to be a powerful skill and the A Ranked NP, I reduced MR as it wouldn’t be as high as say the KoTR but needed a skill to take the remaining points so I went to Instinct to assist further in combat. I’m not as fussed about the instinct skill so if you prefer the other just let me know.
In regards to the genderbend, Godfrey never married in life so I thought it was more justifiable than some of the others in canon.

Personality wise, she’s based on the question asked in the OP of /Reclamation. “How does one save a Hero of Justice.” I created one who died for that ideal in a misguided way of trying to save people by giving them a purpose she couldn’t as a king. How the answer turns out is up to how the RP progresses whether this Grail War ends up more like Unlimited Blade Works, Zero or even Heaven’s Feel.

Godfreya: I think the best part of this sheet is the personality. She explores the "selfless tragic hero" angle in a way that's similar to others in canon (EMIYA, Siegfried, etc) but still different enough to be fascinating in her own right. Her NP is a fairly generic "beam-spear" but you managed to flesh it out and make it interesting anyways (I'm seeing shades of Arash's Stella with the whole 'ending strife' theme).

However, I do have some critiques regarding her Skills. First, Divinity seems like a poor fit for Godfrey. I think a Skill like Protection Of The Faith would make far more sense here. I'd also suggest ranking up her Magic Resistance to B. I know you mentioned lowering it to fit the RP's point system, but piety equalling high levels of resistance is already well established in the Nasuverse. If you still want to go with the point system, you could always rank down Instinct, since it seems like the Skill most extraneous to her legend. Lastly, I'm a little surprised Saladin isn't listed in her Natural Enemy section.

It is a really awesome sheet idea though, thank you

Class skills
Magic Resistance B+
Magecraft with incantations of fewer than three bars can be nullified, even High Thaumaturgy or Rituals. The '+' represents extra defense against magecraft that originates outside of the Western Cultural Hemisphere, due to encountering Mystery and the occasional enemy sorcerer.

Riding C
A Class Skill of the Saber, Rider, and Shielder classes. All mounts can be ridden with an above-average level of skill.

Self-Field Defense B
The Class Skill of the Shielder class, which allows the Servant to shore up the defensive values of those around them. Having set out to retake and protect the Holy Land from the unbelievers that occupied it, Shielder's defensive aura can be projected over a significant distance, though the mana cost becomes higher, and he cannot project it around himself at the same time.
Personal skills
Protection of the Faith A+++
A skill belonging only to those who have sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears for their religious view. It represents the absoluteness of body and soul as born from faith, which was literally etched onto Saber's body by the trails he endured on the First Crusade. This skill is further enhanced by his second Noble Phantasm. At this rank, a distorted mentality is no longer a threat but a reality.

First Through the Breach B
An ability given to those who were the first to break through important defenses, whether mystical or mundane. Boosts Strength and Agility when attacking foes entrenched somewhere.

Godfrey's legend and fame only truly began when he was among the first of the Crusaders to make it through the walls of Jerusalem, the Holy City. While its mystic protections had lain dormant since the fall of the Second Temple nearly a thousand years before, this was still a monumentally impressive feat.

Charisma B+
An estimate of a person's natural charm and talent of leading large groups of people like armies or countries. Having B rank is enough to to lead a minor country. The + signifies a boost in effectiveness when leading a group of fellow Christians.

Shielder himself feels this rank is more than he deserves - he was only one of a council of leaders of the First Crusade. However, popular conception that he was its main leader has boosted this rank from its original value of C.
Noble Phantasms

Advocatus Sanctus Spiritus
Where The Saviour Wore A Crown Of Thorns, No Crown of Gold Shall I Claim

Type: Anti-Army
Rank: A
Range: Self
The Noble Phantasm which allows Godfrey to qualify as Shielder: his response to the call to take up arms and defend the Holy Land, and the fact that he actually succeeded where many others would later fail.

Upon invoking its True Name, Shielder summons the ghostly walls of the Holy Sepulchre. All effects that would target Shielder or anyone under his protection are then forced to "undertake a journey to the Holy Land" - the same journey Shielder himself undertook. In doing so, even most Noble Phantasms are sapped of their power and ability to even reach Shielder by means of the distance that is needed to cross, rendering Shielder immune to most offensive Noble Phantasms as long as he can hold his shield high.

Deus Vult
O LORD, These Steps We Take Are To Your Promised Land

Type: Anti-Unit (Self)
Rank: A+
Range: Self
A Noble Phantasm that represents the First Crusade itself, granted to Shielder because of the combination of his titles as King of Crusaders and Baron of the Holy Sepulchre, the place where Jesus died and was resurrected. Note, however, that it revolves around not the crusades, but the crusaders: those who went on a pilgrimage to retake the Holy Land, no matter their background, no matter their motivation, no matter their odds of success.

The power and belief of their spirits gather around Shielder, strengthening him and lending him their metaphysical weight. These spirits have little sentience and cannot manifest physically. Still, they can take away this blessing at any time they please, should Shielder fail to act according to what they think is right. Furthermore, they will only stay with Shielder as long as he is still on a grand journey of some sort, mirroring the one they accompanied him on in life. Should both conditions be fulfilled, however, Shielder gains effectively an A-rank in Strength and an EX-rank in Endurance, allowing him to punch far above his weight class.
Lore

Grandson of the mythical knight Lohengrin, inheritor of the magical items and the blessed bloodline of his ancestor, Godfrey de Bouillon was born the second son of the Duke of Boulogne. While not in a position to inherit, his uncle named him as his inheritor right before his death, leaving him the heir to the Duchy of Lower Lorraine.

When the Pope called for the First Crusade in 1095, that changed. In order to raise an army of knights, Godfrey took out loans on his lands. Furthermore, he picked up all those who were willing to accompany them, no matter their origin or the life they'd lead. This army was the second of the Crusader armies to arrive in Constantinople, the agreed-upon meeting place. After a minor scuffle with the Emperor there, the Crusaders were finally ready for battle.

One such battle Godfrey took part in was the capture of Antioch. During the siege, however, the Emperor seemed to have abandoned the Crusaders, and they were divided on whether to proceed or not. It was only months after Antioch that the Crusaders marched on Jerusalem, three years after they had set out to do so.

There, Godfrey was among the first to take its walls, and he became famous for it. A council was held and Godfrey accepted the position of leader, though rejecting the title of "king". His reign, however, was not to last: factional infighting prevented him from being able to substantially reinforce his own position, and in the end he died after only a year of governing the Holy Land.
Personality

Shielder is a man of rock-solid, unshakeable faith, above all else. However, he might also be described as "goal-oriented", setting himself a goal - no matter how impossible, no matter the cost - and accomplishing it, then feeling lost until a new goal is found, at which point he'll set off once more.

It must be said that he would not consider himself a knight, since he took up no service to a lord except the Lord, nor adheres to courtly ideals, no matter who his grandfather was. He also would not consider himself a hero, since he was merely fulfilling his duty and doing God's will. God is justice, and justice is God - that's all there is to it.

Notes:
This was started for the first CaS contest, but I never ended up submitting it because it lacked a convincing NP. I reworked it like a dozen times, but here we are. Blame Hermes, I guess. Honestly, though, I realize some parts of this might come across as a bit of "ayy scrub let me show you how it's done", but that's not the intent. 90% of it was written before I even knew Hermes was working on the same guy. Or girl, as the case may be.

John I: The dude is arguably the second most infamous English king after Henry VIII. I would originally argue that that the NP wasn't fitting but you managed to make Carwenann work. I would have originally made the Magna Carta the NP but you worked the nature of it into the skills in regards to his unworthiness and weakness as a king so a good job all around.

Godfreya's personality was what I worked the sheet around and that was my focus on the sheet - making a good character and all. The NP was basically Stella means Photon Ray admittedly and another fair point with the Divinity skill, the idea behind it being a low rank was because it was ill fitting and although I did consider the Protection of the Faith skill a lot, I didn't feel that it would mesh with my interpretation of the figure but it worked really well for the next one posted.

As for the meeting your Nameless Crusader, well of Godfreya's part there would be a lot of tears, her promising to make a better world for them and fighting anyways.

Godfrey (NMR Edition):
This is the sort of thing I nearly went for myself before I went for my interpretation and don't worry I know you weren't going for the "ayy scrub let me show you how it's done" route. Only 'critique' per-se is that you didn't really get into the whole distorted mentality of the high ranked Protection of the Faith and considering Vlad III and King Hassan it would have been nice to see the way you took it.

Yeah, it's definitely one of my more, uh, "inspired" decisions. Carwennan Image doesn't fit, but that's kind of the point in the end, so I'm glad that worked out alright. I'm not much of a historian (not good enough at objectiveness and sourcing things), which is another part of why it's not a Noble Phantasm.

Yeah, the distorted mentality's a bit lacking, I agree. Definitely could've worked on that more, especially since it's also part of what makes Deus Vult work. I'll get around to updating that.

“Praise me! Admire me! Worship me! And know that the fairest of all is I, Queen Cassiopeia!”

Assassin
Cassiopeia

source

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
STR: D
END: C+
AGI: E-
MAG: B+
LUCK: C
NP: A

Class Skills

Presence Concealment (E-):
The capacity to hide one's presence as a Servant. It is a common Class Skill of the Assassin class. Though Cassiopeia is of the Assassin class, she is incapable of assassinating people, her own vanity preventing her from concealing herself. At a rank this low, she might as well not possess the skill.

“Why should I hide myself? I am not so cruel as to deny the lowly masses the opportunity to gaze in rapture on my beauty.”

Personal Skills

Golden Rule (Body) (A): A Skill that denotes the possession of a natural and perfect goddess-like body, preserving beauty. Unlike the Natural Body Skill whose body shape does not change despite how much caloric intake was taken, there is no effect on the Skill owner's Strength parameter.

Queen’s Beauty (A+): A fascination type magecraft that is Cassiopeia’s hallmark of one who was famed for her beauty. All who meet the conditions and gaze on the queen’s flawless face will be forced to make a resistance check, and those who fail will fall under her thrall. A charm effect that weakens parameters as a side-note. It is the reason for Cassiopeia being classed as an Assassin. The conditions for triggering this skill are ‘one who finds women attractive’ and ‘one who is past a certain age’. For children and the like, she has no use.

Narcissist (C): The capacity for self-love. A type of self-delusion that raises parameters as the possessor’s belief in their own skill rises. They are so convinced of their own greatness that conviction becomes reality. Cassiopeia’s sheer self-belief in her beauty causes a plus modifier to all charm skills.

Elemental (D-): The designation of one’s being as a nature spirit. At this rank, one is considered only a partial nature spirit and, as such, cannot fully manifest the abilities of an elemental. However, obtaining power from nature itself is still possible and interaction with spirits is slightly increased. Cassiopeia’s mother was an Oceanid and as such she possesses water based powers. Her main method of attack is with Water magic, however she has lost the ability to commune with sea beasts, having been cursed to have her kingdom ravaged by the monster Cetus whilst she was alive.

Noble Phantasm

Astraea Cassiopeia
The Queen Imprisoned Honoured in the Stars

Anti-Army, A: The most famous thing associated with Cassiopeia of Phoenicia, the famous, distinctive W-shaped constellation that bears her name sublimated into a Noble Phantasm. It takes the shape of the chair on which she was imprisoned as punishment for her hubris, embodying and signifying the five stars. A glorious, radiant throne that shines softly as if it was made of stars, it hovers through the air. It comes equipped with five lights in a W shape, for the constellation, repurposed by Assassin as miniature fusion reactors serving as heavy-duty artillery, raining down beams of light like an airstrike, similar to the magic used by Hecate’s disciples. It also comes equipped with deflector shields, for defence, and a stealth drive, to compensate for Cassiopeia’s poor Presence Concealment. It’s most powerful attack is named
Sigil Polaris
Revolution of the North Star
where Cassiopeia, in her vanity, assumes the role of the celestial pole, causing rings of light and heat to expand out from the throne, revolving in the air. The rings then unleash their payload, causing a cascade of starlight to pour down on the ground below, scorching the land. The one drawback is that Cassiopeia is unable to move from the throne, due to her being imprisoned on it.

Lore
Queen Cassiopeia of Phoenicia was the wife of King Cepheus and the mother of Andromeda. The daughter of an Oceanid, she possessed supernatural beauty and grew very vain as result, and took to boasting that she was fairer than any and all of the Nereids. Poseidon, who was married to a Nereid, and had another as his closest lover, took offence to her hubris and sent a sea monster to ravage her lands. In order to appease it, Cepheus and Cassiopeia tried to sacrifice Andromeda to it, but she was rescued by Perseus, who killed the monster. Declaring that she would not escape punishment, Poseidon chained Cassiopeia to a throne and turned her into a constellation, to wheel about the celestial pole for eternity.

“The only one worthy of being called beautiful is, of course, I. Therefore, everyone else, who are not me, can only be called ugly. That’s only fair, isn’t it?”

Likes: Beautiful things (herself)
Dislikes: Ugly things, fish
Natural Talents: “Why, when you look like me, would you need such things?”
Natural enemy: Amphitrite, Nerites

Vain, spoiled and selfish beyond belief, she naturally expects to be treated like the queen she is, or even a goddess. To anyone unable or unwilling to fall at her feet and worship her blindly, she has no use, dismissing them as one would a pebble by the side of the road. She becomes easily pleased when praised, but will become sulky and sullen if criticised. On the off-chance that she falls for someone else, she will become flustered and will almost certainly lose her poise. Despite all this, she is, at heart, a kind woman, and anything insulting or cruel she says or does is almost certain to be out of ignorance rather than malice. She will say and do things unthinkingly, without considering the consequences, and will openly use her true name, in an attempt to impress other people. In short, she is an idiot.

Cleopatra: “Bitch”

Semiramis: “Whore”

Medb: “Pervert”

Stheno/Euryale: “Ideal beauty? Please. Try again in ten years, brats.”

Perseus: “What a sweet young man you are. You may call me ‘mummy’ if you like.”
