As always, depends on what you have in mind when thinking "demon". For Nasu Demons: if it's from partial incarnation stemming from possession, some kind of demonic transformation or RM shenanigans; if it's a fusion with a preexisting one, super magecraft, even crazier RM shenanigans, or dipping into Lovecraft stuff. For general usage of the term "demon", dunno, Demon of Mutation?

I'm trying to do a genuine Nasu Demon, yeah. I think I'll just go for the Demonic Transformation route, though, what exactly do you mean by 'Super Magecraft'?

If someone put a gun against your head and told you to accurately translate the concept of demons into a Servant or die, you'd live.

One of the noted characteristics of Demons is that they can use magecraft that is on a whole other level naturally.

    I'm pretty sure you can't have a half-true demon.
because if it was half a true demon, it would no longer be true.
you would only be something approaching the level of a true demon

When I say 'Half-True Demon' I mean: "A True Demon had a child with a Human, this is that child". He's not going to be on the level of a True Demon at all.

Edit: On second thought.... that idea is actually kinda dumb and won't fit with the servant.

    Robert the Devil
True Name: Robert the Devil, AKA the Medieval Half-Demon Edgy OC
    Class: Berserker
    Alignment: Lawful Good
    Source: Medieval Legend
    Place of Origin: France
    Attribute: Man
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_the_Devil

    Parameters:
    STR: B+
    END: C+
    AGI: C+
    MGI: A
    LCK: B
    NP: EX

    Height/Weight: 6’ 6”, 280 lbs
Likes: Prayer, Penance, God, Saints, Repentance, Bloodshed
Dislikes: Demons, Satan, Unholy things, Bloodlust

    Class Skills:
    Mad Enhancement - [ EX ]

Berserker’s variation of Mad Enhancement is unique. At first glance, it is sealed, without any effect, rendering him rather pointless as a Berserker. Berserker himself retains full rationality, without any of the mental distortion characteristic of the Berserker Class. On closer inspection, one discovers that Berserker’s Mad Enhancement is not sealed. Strangely, it is the opposite of sealed, for his Mad Enhancement skill cannot be deactivated, nullified, or suppressed by any means.

To understand this apparent Paradox of Berserker’s madness, it is necessary to understand who and what he is. Berserker is the child of a True Demon, and when Berserker was born, he was born as less a normal human baby, and more as a baby already possessed by a Demon. Due to this, Berserker is essentially always in a state of Madness, constantly driven to create Bloodshed. Were it not for his sheer strength of will, he would be very, very dead by now, as the demon would overcome his physical form and make him explode. As Berserker has sealed away the Demon within him and completely suppressed his demonic instincts, he receives no benefit from Mad Enhancement.

    Personal Skills:
    Monstrous Strength - [ A ]

This Skill is borne from the Berserker's nature as a Half-Demon, and temporarily increases his Strength by a single rank for a period of time. Use of this skill will cause Berserker to become a being of Hellfire, as his Demonic nature manifests into the physical world. Initially, his eyes will merely appear as orbs of flame. This physical change progresses as this skill is used, and more and more of his body will be turned into flames as time goes on, until he is little more than a raging flame contained within his armor. Despite these physical changes, his mental state is not directly affected by this skill, for his Demonic urges exist regardless of the status of his physical form. Unlike Medusa's Monstrous Strength, Berserker is entirely capable of reverting to a human form even if fully transformed by this skill.

    Protection of the Faith - [ A+ ]

A skill possessed only by those who have sacrificed themselves for a religious view. Despite being a form of divine protection, it is not a blessing from a higher existence. It is only the absoluteness of one's body and soul, which is born from faith. Berserker in life undertook massive amounts of penance, became a hermit, and fought alongside the Burial Agency in order to absolve himself of the sins he committed in his early years. His dedication to working for absolution stemmed from his wish to
    overcome himself
    defeat his own nature
, and eventually, he completely conquered the demon within him with his resolve, after years of self-sacrifice for God. Such an absolute faith and will grants him a high rank in this skill, and his resistance to his own demonic nature in life grants this skill a rank-up if facing a Demonic opponent or Demonic powers.

    Brought by Degrees
    To Wield the Devil’s Sword
    - [ A ]

The Demon that is part of Berserker is a Demon oriented towards the destruction of man. By conquering his own demonic nature, Berserker is capable of wielding the Demon's powers. This skill operates as a combination of a variant of Aptitude for Slaughter(Tools) and a variant of Mana Burst(Flames), both at A-rank. Berserker has the capability to access his Demonic nature's instinctual knowledge of how to harm humans, and is capable of emitting cursed Hellfire to enhance his strikes and movement. These two capabilities work together, granting him incredible skill and power with anything that could be defined as a [Weapon], beyond anything he could achieve without the use of this skill.

    Noble Phantasms

    Lord's Grace
    The Conquest of Hell
    - [ B ] - [ Anti-Sin ]
Berserker in life had not always been the pious man he is today. In his youth, he had been practically a pawn of the Demon within him. He assaulted his nurse as an infant, stabbed his teachers as a child, and was a bandit chief right up until he had an epiphany and utterly changed his ways. When he realized the depth of his sins, he sought redemption like a man in the desert seeks water. He bodily threw himself on his knees before the Pope, confessed each and every one of his many sins, and undertakes brutal penance. Among which, was an oath that he would not eat any food he had not personally wrestled from the mouth of a dog. How exactly that helped him muster the will to overpower the Demon within him is unclear, but he managed the task anyway, and reformed to the extant that he was considered a Saint by the time of his death, due to his constant service to God and his many penances.

This Noble Phantasm represents his triumph over the Demon within him, and how he absolved himself of a lifetime of sin by his actions. It acts as a Conceptual Weapon, whose material form is a Crucifix he wears around his neck. The effect of this Conceptual Weapon is to [Overcome Sin], and it's functions are three-fold. It bears the capability to nullify Curses, Noble Phantasms, or other such magical things that are based on [Sin] of some kind. For instance, a Curse inflicted as punishment for some kind of Sin would be nullified by this Noble Phantasm. In addition, the capacity to [Overcome Sin] allows this Noble Phantasm to deal incredible damage to beings whose existences are based on
Sin. A [Beast], that represents the sin of Mankind, or some other kind of Demon, would be incredibly vulnerable to the effects of this Noble Phantasm. However, this Noble Phantasm has no effect on existences that are not based in [Sin].

The final function of this Noble Phantasm is to seal the effects of Berserker's second Noble Phantasm, since that existence is one based on [Sin] in the eyes of the Church. While one might think it would nullify Berserker's many abilities based on his Demonic nature simply by proximity, Berserker's actions in life have rendered his body, and by extension, the demon within him, [Absolved of Sin].

    The Demon Scion
    Unit Designation: Robert the Devil
    - [ EX ] - [ Anti-Self ]
Berserker's inner Demon is not truly an existence separate from him, no matter how much he wishes it so. It is more accurate to say that the intelligence controlling Berserker is the Demon, who has chosen to suppress their inhumanity and assume a mantle of humanity. The line between Demon and Man is blurred to the point that it would be incredibly easy to erase entirely. The erasure of this line, is how a True Demon is generated from a normal Demon. For when a Demon finds a host whose mind can bear the strain of Possession, their minds and existences merge to create a True Demon, and with the added component of [Man], the Demon gains the capability to [Define Itself], enabling it to exist without a [Unit Designation] or being clad in [Ideations of Man]. The existence of Berserker is one that could easily fit these criteria and ascend to the existence of a True Devil, but the Existence known as [Robert the Devil] has chosen to remain a Human, due to its desire to possess the attributes of [Humanity]. Sympathy, Joy, Love, Sadness, Friendship, Family, these are all things that Berserker believes cannot truly be possessed by Demons, and thus the Existence known as [Robert the Devil] forsakes ascension in lieu of retaining these most precious things.

But, should Robert the Devil come to be convinced, or perhaps, come to realize, that he can [Define Himself] when he ascends, and thus retain these trappings of humanity while also re-defining his own existence as one that no longer [Destroys Humans] by nature, he may choose to become a True Demon, and finally end the urges that roil within him. His first Noble Phantasm will be destroyed, and he will shed his human form. His new physical form is one of a giant humanoid composed of flame, and he gains the ability manifest Magecraft as easy as breathing, as well as all the capabilities associated with [True Demons]. He will likely retain his faith even as he ascends, for one of the prerequisites for him choosing to become a True Demon, is believing that despite becoming such an Existence, he may still serve God's will, and even better serve God's will with his increased power. Ironically, such a choice would bring him into conflict with the Church almost instantly.

    Lore

Berserker is Robert the Devil, a medieval knight from the 13th century. His mother, the Duchess of Normandy, sought a child, but found that no matter how much she prayed, she remained infertile. So, rather than make entreaties of God, she chose to ask the Devil for a child. A nameless True Demon answered her request, and she becomes pregnant. The child born was possessed by Demonic instincts, and delighted in terrorizing those around them. For much of their early life, they would commit numerous acts of atrocity, accounts of which would be dismissed as brazen exaggeration, if their occurrence had not been all too real. Yet, bizarrely, the Demonic existence that was [Robert the Devil] did not ascend to the position of a True Demon. One day, after slaughtering the nuns of a convent, Robert the Devil decided to visit his mother. Upon entering their childhood home, they saw the servants flee before them, and the Demon found that they were dismayed at the sight. There, he had an epiphany. The Demonic Existence realized that they were, impossibly, repulsed by their own wickedness and cruelty, and with that revelation, came the realization that they did not wish to be a Demonic existence. For the first time, he feels remorse for his actions. He questions, then, why was he possessed of these urges? Why was he born? He rushed to his mother, intent on discerning the truth of his birth, and he pleaded with his mother for answers. Well, 'pleaded' is a rather strong word. His revelation of humanity had only occurred mere minutes ago, and in his inexperience at being [Human], he decided the best way to convince his mother to tell him the truth, was to draw his sword and threaten his mother with death if she did not tell him. His mother, not wanting to become a shish-kebab, tells him of the circumstances of his birth, how she had called down Satan[It was really just some True Demon, but she didn't know that] to grant her a son. And thus, Robert the Devil resolved to find a way to defeat his own nature.

He reasoned that to defeat the influence of Satan, one would require the aid of God. Since the Lord didn't really have a help line, Robert sought the aid of the Lord's intermediaries on earth, the Church. He came before the Pope himself with his entreaties, and managed to confess each and every single one of his many, many sins. Under the Pope's direction, he undertook years of penance, and among these penances the most notable was his service under the Burial Agency of the Church. A half-Demon fit right in with the Burial Agency's collection of overpowered people, and he fought for the Agency in innumerable missions, purging Demons and Dead Apostles. He forsook all glory, honor, and material gain during his penance, acting as a sort of warrior-monk. Eventually, he retires due to his old age, and lives out the rest of his days as a hermit in a secluded forest.

    Personality

Berserker is an oddity. He is absolutely devoted to God, and yet he accepts his own Demonic nature. Rather than [Rejecting the Demonic], his attitude towards his own nature is that of [Embracing His Own Humanity]. In his eyes, his use of his Demonic powers is not heresy, for it is utilized to further the will of God. Honestly, he's rather muddled on the nature of his own existence. He has unshakeable faith in God, yet does not particularly mind that he himself is a Demonic existence. He clings to his Humanity, yet accepts the use of his Demonic powers. If confronted on this paradox, he will make very confusing arguments about why it's perfectly fine until the person trying to press the matter gets tired of trying to get through to his thick skull and stops.

Berserker also loathes the existence of Demons, Monsters, and all such beings. In them, he sees a reflection of what he once was, and what he might yet be, and he recoils from the sight. Even more than beings that are monstrous by nature, however, he despises humans that have chosen to be monstrous. To abandon the humanity you have, and forsake it to become something inhuman and without those essential human qualities he prizes, is something he cannot bear to tolerate. However, Monstrous or Demonic beings that desire humanity, and wish to attain those essential human qualities, and forsake their inhuman nature, such beings he sympathizes with deeply, for he is one of those beings.

Berserker does have a personality outside of his views on Religion and Monsters and Demons, of course. He is humble to a fault, and will shun any glory or accolade. Among his deepest traits is a constant desire to be of service anyone who comes to see him seeking aid, partially as a counterbalance to his instinct to do the exact opposite. He lacks any real ability to deceive, as his lies always come out unconvincingly. His disposition can be liked to that of a puppy, who unconditionally loves those around him. In Battle, he is honorable to a fault, and acts with considerable forethought. This is not only because of caution, but because in battle, his Demonic instincts flare up like nowhere else, and he must strain against these instincts while battling his opponent.

    Specific Servant Interactions:

Gilles de Rais[Caster]: "I'm going to kill all of your demons. All of them."
Absolute loathing. Gilles summons Demons and is an utter monster. He checks off all of Berserker's boxes for making him angry. Especially the way he keeps yelling about the 'Greatest Cool'.

Saint Martha: "You tamed your beast, and I tamed mine."
He admires her, is all. She understands the difficulties of dealing with something Monstrous, and bringing it under control. It's only natural he'd sympathize with her. He definitely never stared at her when she was in a swimsuit. He's a pious holy man, such a thing would be absurd.

Medusa: "... I really am sorry for what happened to you."
She descended into monstrosity, slowly. Little by little, she lost who she was. She lost her family to herself. Berserker doesn't think he could ever understand that descent. But, at least, he can understand how it feels to have been a monster.

    Mordred: "Dads, huh?"
Let's be honest, the only thing they really connect with each other about are daddy issues.

Vlad III: "... I don't know how to feel about you."
Vladescu fought in the name of God, and served as a pious defender of Christendom. On the other hand, he did so by being a monster, and committing monstrous acts. These two things combined make it very confusing for Berserker to figure out how he feels about Vlad.

Fran: "We really are too alike."
Born a monster, and desperately seeking humanity... it reminds Berserker of his own life. Down to the utterly horrible father. They'd likely become fast friends.

Abigail William: "... Another one like me. It's almost funny." -> "Oh, Lord, please no..."
The two would share almost a sibling-like relationship. To host a Demonic power? Berserker knows that all too well. To desperately seek to prove that you are not evil? Berserker knows that too. Alas, the despair Berserker would feel, once he witnesses Abigail's change....

    Kiara:
The song that plays when he sees her

    JK.

Elizabeth Bathory: "... There's quite a few like me running around, aren't there. This one is just plain unpleasant"
A monster that has not yet realized it's monstrosity... She began just like him. But unlike him, she never made the realization. And she died never knowing. Tragic. Of course, she now flaunts her lack of empathy, so Berserker really, really wishes he could just slap some sense into her.

Asterios: "Now this is getting out of hand. How many monsters are there running around here in this home of Heroes?"
Yet another monster born? Well, this one bears guilt for it's nature... Perhaps he can help the boy absolve himself of that guilt.

    That took a while.

Robert: One thing I can say is that your writing style really has improved massively since when you first started doing sheets. Aside from that, the contradiction between the pious and demonic sides to him is very interesting conceptually and feels like the kind of thing Nasu himself could've written in some form. A very good sheet that's well fleshed out in both personality and concept. Congrats!

Thanks. I am a bit worried he's a bit wanked though. Sure, the way I made him, he's the son of a True Demon, but.... not entirely sure if he's at the right power level or not.

I expected a half-assed edgelord. I'm glad to say I was completely wrong. This is a great sheet.

The last NP goes a bit overboard on the square brackets, but to be fair, so do the Nasuverse's confusing rules on demons.

The relationships section might just be the cherry on top. The Kiara bit was perfect. It got me thinking about how Robert would react to the Demon I did recently.

I'm not surprised, because Robert the Devil is basically the medieval version of an edgelord OC.

Blame Nasu's love of brackets/ceilings. Not me. :P

Robert has one of two reactions to Demons and Monsters: "CLEANSE AND PURGE" or "You poor thing". Legion would get the former.

Also, the song Hellfire really fits Kiara. Like, bizarrely so. I mean, the verse about "raven hair" is a dead ringer. Combine that with all the Demon and Hell bits, and I couldn't resist adding it in.

Blame Reclamation. An honest-to-gods Grail War RP in 2017/18. Ended up making too many sheets for it and the rest sort of just leaked out onto here.
