Isn't the whole deal with Jeanne Alter not being Jeanne because Jeanne is incorruptible, hence the Grail needed to build an Alter from scratch? Whereas Cu could be Blackened normally (he's no Saint...).

I have to figure if he didn't have an infinite Mana battery, he would've been alot more restricted. Curruid is probably a mana hog and nevermind the Grail regeneration on top of it.

But yeah, I read him as Cu twisted by Medb's geass and desire, not a fake Servant. That's why he was so morose even if he was totally dutiful to the purpose he was given.

Imagine if you could know everything. All the time. Your brain would explode. Gil is a bit less human then you are, but he is still more or less mortal, and fundamentally a physical being. If nothing else, having it on all the time would be "inconvenient".

That and this is Gil we're talking about. What could be more boring then knowing exactly how things are going to pan out for you? If there is one overriding theme to Gil's personality, it is "Entertain me".
