No matter how much she gets used to doing battle, it is scary for her, and she wants to be calm during combat as much as she can if possible.

If the rank was higher, the target could even phase through attacks from a higher dimension, among other things. That principle is close to a certain defensive Noble Phantasm that is used to target its own user.

I think Penelope has all the reasons to be nasty against Circe if TM pick the version where she bewitched Odysseus to make him stay though.
There is also a story about Oddyseus death that goes he was prophesied that he will be kill by his son, so he exiles Telemachus but then his son with Circe comes to meet his papa and is the one that ends up killing him by accident. So, yeah the situation between Circe and Penelope will be awkward not matter what and Penelope is in all her rights to be mad if that's the case
you forgot the fun part where she and Telemachus are made immortal by Circe and then she marries her husband's killer and Circe marries Telemachus
