I remember Ishida drawing the Maou Yuusha comic, and Maou's proportion wasn't that bad back then. Lancer Artoria's gag boobs are as bad as Raikou's.

No, Ishida's always been weak at legs. Go to danbooru and check his cheesecake pics. Some they're nice, but if he draws more than a cowboy shot (knees up), they'll inevitably taper to sticks.
In the manga he usually just prefers to just not draw below the waist unless it's for a wide shot where the distance obscures the details.

But growing tail = lore so it's good! Not drawing the mirror in stage 1 then add it in stage 2 is lazy tho.

Mashu's ascension is also meh with no noticeable changes and Medusa literally just removes the mystic eye killer eyepatch lol.

Lancer Artoria 1 and 2 are good for when I want to take her seriously. LA 3 is best for everything else.

So, let's go ahead and talk about summer waifus. A lot of strong illustrations, and I like that they just decided that almost every ascension is going to be a completely new outfit. Now you can use these Servants outside of events and not have them look jarringly out of place.

First Batch: Nobunaga's is my fave. It's actually really hard for illustrators to fuck up summer outfits since fanservice is just par for course and only becomes a problem when things get too fetishey, but pako just ducks that shit altogether and keeps Nobu hella classy with her letterman jacket and Buster tee. Then she becomes Baywatch Kamina. Then she becomes Shakuga no Akiha. And we hit the finish line with one of the best ascensions in the game with otouto cameo.

Second Batch: A brief expository on my experiences with Saber Alter. First Stage: Best swimsuit of the event. Already superior to Bootyful Beach Queen Saber in almost every way. Second Stage: Your maid fetish is getting out of hand again, bro. Third Stage: Excuse my earlier rudeness. Final Stage: Glad to see you remembered the booty, Takeuchi. Did you really have to use the worst ascension, though?

Alter looks dumb outside her first ascension, I don't like Raita's art and Helena just makes me a little uncomfortable. Fran and Ishtar are okay, if plain. Nobu and Medjed are great. I've noticed a lot of people keeping Nitocris as Medjed even after ascending her. I don't particularly like Nero's art but her animations are fun so she gets a pass.

Nero is just... Nero.

Like, the cool thing about the swimsuit Servants is they typically have a 'theme' that they're working with, and they slowly (or immediately) metamorphisize with each acension.

But Nero doesn't really have a theme. It's just her. In a swimsuit. With some random shit floating behind her. Would have been cooler if she acenscended into her emperor costume from CCC. Or a Japanese PE outfit. Or shit, put her a toga.

Her NP animation really raised the bar, though.

Nobu's forms are awesome, though I wish she kept the the jacket cape in her last form but now also on fire. I would have also prefered it if her keeping the firey swimsuit/notcape in her final artwork but her wearing the Buster shirt & all is very...'Nobu' so its all good.

I find them refreshing w/ nice animations but not much to say about nice-coat pony-tailed Helena or Kantai-mecha Nero. Don't care much for Raita NotSaber sword using Raikou.

Already shared my love for Nito's & got no complains in all her forms. I can understand people keeping her in not-egyptian-ghost form, it is pretty amusing plus has original lines too.

I like Raidah Altah Seiba's enough but a bit of a mix bag. 1st form is very nice but would have preferred if she actually held the actual sword (initially, I thought she wrapped her sword in sea water proof plastic). Maid themed 2nd form is oddly amusing enough.
Though I like the last form enough, certain things do sometimes bug me like the tiara...but then I'm reminded of Archer Seiba's even bigger & dumber ahoge suppresing crown & I'm good again. Mmm, would like to see her in the 1st or last form's version of her final artwork.
