Really? Most hated her Disgaea look while some expected a mature Wu Zetian. Losing more clothes doesn't make one look better, like how both Lancer Artoria look better with 2nd ascension then 3rd.

It's the odd proportion that is bad, so when they cover it up with the plate armor, they look pretty good. Unless you think it is better that they hid their face in ascension one that is.

This. It makes me sad that Nero's ascensions are "base", "base + fiery sword", and "stage 2 + bunch of gaudy stuff". At least you can argue the last one is differentish, but just making the sword fiery is cheap as hell.

I was honestly most disappointed at Gil. Stage 1: no skirt cape which makes him disturbing to see, stage 2: adds skirt cape, viola.

Nah, I think the Lion helmet and the heavy platebody is awful. I'm in the definite minority who likes the 3rd and final artwork I bet.

I love both Lancer Artoria and Lancer Alter's design, but I absolutely hate Akira's art. At least in their first two ascensions they are okay too look at, besides the stick legs.

I remember Ishida drawing the Maou Yuusha comic, and Maou's proportion wasn't that bad back then. Lancer Artoria's gag boobs are as bad as Raikou's.

But growing tail = lore so it's good! Not drawing the mirror in stage 1 then add it in stage 2 is lazy tho.

Mashu's ascension is also meh with no noticeable changes and Medusa literally just removes the mystic eye killer eyepatch lol.
