Also, I do understand her character. She has several different motives behind her desperate bids to make him fall in love with her, for example, she doesn't just want a husband, she wants someone she can dote on. She also has a terrible fear of rejection, due to the events leading up to her death.

(I suppose she contrasts here with Medea considering how Medea doesn't fear it so much as she despises the people who reject her.)

Such are just a few of the reasons she tries to speed things along.
