How exactly? He is given a prestigious title exactly because he's earned it.

Hard to explain, just disregard it.
With the way the keep adding shit to gils vault, soon he will have the root in it.
Life is short, we don't need to shitpost at eachother about nasu.
He has the honor of being a quantum time lock, isnt that good enough?
Moon Cell: Hmm, let's see, what's a big enough moment to create a save point, oh heeeey, that Blond douche just got hoisted by his own petard and shot a lot, that's fun, oh crap I hit the save button by accident.... Eh, nobody'll notice, right?
*Ten years later*
Moon Cell: Hey, isn't that that Priest guy from the last war I watched, I wonder what's gonna happen this ti- ... I need to stop hitting that button....
Well
1) It appeals to regular human nature to kill him off as a character, because he's a bully and massive douche
2) It appeals to logic to kill him off in-universe, because he's unadaptable to newer ideas, strategies and gunplay- and also his primary defences also bear a massive flaw
3) Also he wifed a thot who doesn't even like the idea of a matrimonial union with him, yet she plays a pivotal role in his servant mastership/contract.
So many exploitable weaknesses, even if he wasn't killed early on it's easy to see why he'd be neutered. It feels like WOKE Kotomine and possibly even Ryuunosuke would eat him for breakfast.
That Gawain's sword looks like a toy.
That's because it's literally a discount Excalibur.
I'm just saying that Galatine is [discount Excalibur], because that's what it is. Doesn't mean it's not hype.
Nine Lives Blade Works is [discount Nine Lives], but that shit obliterated over 90% of the guy it was stolen from.
The shapless lump that makes up the crossguard reminds me of those unfinished-looking cheap plastic swords you find on figurines at grocers.

Maybe if Gawain had gotten the same tron makeover that Lancer did I could have just waved it off as part of the moon cells futuristic look, but seeing a normalish knight using a scifi sword for seemingly no reason was just kind of jarring for me.
Or the Lady of the Lake stopped trying after the first Holy Sword.
ought to hire an experienced blacksmith that has an eye for replicating the look of things
