Kiritsugu at least tried the best he could. He was a screwup either way, but the good intentions were there.
Oddly, his version from the softer and fluffier Prisma Illya universe comes across as more negligent and uncaring since, unlike the main canon's Kiritsugu, he's never there at all for either of his children.

I've seen a lot of people refer to Leonardo da Vinci as 'da Vinci' compared to Jeanne d'Arc as just 'd'Arc', etc. I think he's just an exception cause da Vinci is iconic.
Actually you can't refer to the historic figure Da Vinci as a man anymore Type Moon has retconned history itself.
I thought he was a man in Nasuverse, but got summoned in the visage of the Mona Lisa and was like "Eh. I'm cool with this."
