Not in how pathetic he was. That wasn't cute in the slightest. Only Waver was adorable pathetic because he was just a teenager and he was pathetic the way the typical 19-year-old college student was pathetic, that is it was temporary and he grew out of it, only to become a permanent grumpy bear.

I am, but I have Fate Stay Night the VN, UBW, and HF if I want my fix of Rin.

Fate Zero should have spent every last minute on the events that occured in the Holy Grail War and those involved, not on a one off adventure with Rin that adds nothing to the story at large.

One more thing. Everyone was piledriving on me in another thread when I claimed Kayneth was a pathetic excuse for a person, but now we're calling every Master in Zero pathetic? What's the deal?

We humans can be hypocrites? Or maybe it was different people?

That said Kayneth deserved a better end, and less of a thot for a fiance. His only mistake was treating this like it was a gentlemens game.

For the first part, the Zero episode, aside from showing how badass even chibi!Rin was, also established her already existing hero/martyr tendencies that she alludes to and exhibits in FSN despite her magus ideals, and it really hits home how fundamentally similar to Shirou she's always been. That, and the episode indirectly humanized Tokiomi and Aoi in my mind.

Also, about Kayneth deserving a better end, I will kinda disagree. Sure, his death may have been too much, but I personally wouldn't have gone out of my way to save him either. In fact, one of my gripes with Accel Zero Order is that it treated Kayneth as someone who was sympathetic enough for Waver to go out of his way to save. He really isn't.

I haven't seen past the first one, but it was one of the first shows I watched when I started watching anime several years ago, so I liked it back then tbh, but I haven't rewatched it since so who knows what I'd think now.

Alicisation isn't part of the anime yet and it probably won't be for some time.

SAO is a mediocre novel made into a mediocre anime that got way too much hype followed by way too much backlash against it. Like, I remember playing MMOs in 2012 where you saw Kiritos and Asunas every-damn-where you looked.

Despite being an unsavory person, Kayneth, as far as Zero goes, has a somewhat dignified end.
