The first half had a lot less dumb stuff than the second half but idk if I would call it good. It had potential to lead to something good, as the start of almost every sao arc does, but on it's own the first half is just really boring imo.

well that’s only appearance wise. Personality you can’t find people any different. Fionn’s Artist even says he regrets Fionn’s expressions he drew saying they don’t really match how he acts or his personality

It is suppose to be an older Fionn by that point in the legend. He also did lose his blondness sometime in between, even if the color isn’t quite right. We already know that Nasumales have latent magic hormones that can even spring up during adulthood and change them to the point of being unrecognizable. Might as well accept it at this point.

Kariya wanted to save Sakura from Zouken's clutches, but his obsession with Aoi led him to kill himself with Berserker and cement in Sakura's conscience that nobody goes against Zouken and lives.

To be fair, it's not like this isn't true. Zouken has killed people under the nose of the Second Owners for decades, and scrubbed whatever maniacal things he did to his own family from record.
Sure, Kariya fucked up and instilled more fear, but she was kinda royally hosed anyway, her father gave her to an evil archmagus with no supervision and time enough to make her a perfect hostage for the most part.
The guy IS dangerous, it's just he fooled the people around him for a long time.

Expecting a kid raised in an environment like that with what is essentially bomb collars inside their body to not feel fear or helplessness is missing the point. Shit, Rin shrieked at Gille's tiny blob things, she'd probably faint at Zouken's giant spider pets in that pit. Those things are bigger than freaking Tachikomas.

Sieg might have been bland but at least he had an affect on the plot, you could literally write Hakuno out of extra entirely without changing the overall story all that much.

You could literally write Hakuno out of extra and then Leo wins and gets beaten by Twice. If there is no [insertcharactername] with his/her blank slate and consequent questioning of why they fight and keep winning over masters with more skill, more experience and well-defined goals, there is no Extra.

But... that's the entire point of sharing opinions. To see stuff from a different point of view than your own and thus have a more complete view on the subject. Yes, naturally, you should always apply critical thinking and not take anyone's word for gospel, but if you never secondguess yourself you never learn anything.

I've actually heard relatively good things about it compared to the rest of SAO. Kind of looking forward to it.

If we're still talking about Alicisation, the first half is Kawahara having a brief stint through the isekai genre before subsequently returning to 'trapped in a videogame' one, followed by jumping the shark over an acid-filled tank ringed with zombie cheerleaders.

Meanwhile Accel World season 2 never ever.

You're saying "don't secondguess yourself because of something someone else said, secondguess yourself by rewatching the show (without taking the other's opinion into account)."
I'm saying you should totally secondguess yourself because of something someone else said, and THEN rewatch the show with the new perspective you get from that.

from my experience, secondguessing yourself using a biased opinion, more often than not when said opinion is delivered with emotion (either blind hate or blind love) behind it, only result in twisting your opinion in a justification direction
the "new perspective" you get from others would be somewhat or even very much permeated with their taste and preference
which more often than not, is completely different from yours, if it get to the point of internet argument
in the end youd end up with not forming your opinion, but conforming yourselves with the opinion of others
id much rather take them into account, respect it, but only reguess and reevaluate after i recheck and rewatch/reread the piece of works.

but i disagree in reevaluation based on the opinion of a faceless person you dont even know / barely have any inkling about
much less when said faceless person has completely different opinion than you / filled with hatred / love on the show
said emotion may be justified on their pov, but their pov is not your pov
its different when youre discussing with IRL friends, but i find opinions from internet, while should be respected, should not be the one that makes you second guess yourselves
because youd know them and at presumably they can be more objective
but, in this particular instance of FZ, for example, i see much more on the line of hate comment and not objective evaluation
which is fine because liking/hating something is part of watching/reading it
but anything based on overlike/overhate at some point becomes less of an opinion and more of a justification
at some point it no longer useful, and ends up pushing instead
more often than not its more self harmful then self evaluating

That's what critical thinking means. You take every perspective into account, not just your own, and you judge what, if any, merit it holds. THen you use that to reevaluate your opinion.
Let's say for example I watched Citizen Kane and found it really boring. Then I read someone else analysing the film where he explains why he thinks it's a great film. Taking his words into account, I rewatch the film and decide that yeah, he does have a point, it's actually a pretty good film. Thus I have discovered something I wouldn't have seen on my own.
