I recently rewatched Presage Flower with some new subs that came out and it was kinda jarring to see the western name order because I'm so used to Shirou calling everyone but Shinji, Sakura and the occasional Taiga by their last name (or at least I have it ingrained in my head that he does, I could be misremembering) and it was weird to read him say Ayako instead of Mitsuzuri.
I thought in a normal polite conversation like in a business meeting you call someone Mr. or Mrs. [Last Name].
Honestly, CP ruined Medea

Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
She was only in it for the tennis match, that race, and that one time she made that luck amulet for Kuzuki from what I remember.
That is really annoying with subs, especially when you can tell the sub isn't matching with what the character is saying.
Like I remember some subs in Fate/Cooking where Sakura was obviously saying "Nee-san" and the sub rendered it to "Rin" or something. Utterly irritating.

Well, in Fate, most Servants don't even have last names.
As for Shirou, pretty much the only relevant character who calls him 'Emiya' is Rin. For Sakura he's SEMPAI SEMPAI SEMPAI, for Illya he's Oniichan, for Saber and Taiga he's Shirou, for Gilgamesh he's Mongrel, for Caster, Lancer and Archer he's Hey, You, for Berserker he's "▂▂▃▃▄▄▅▅!"
Nobody ever calls the Walking Cardboard Cutout 'Fujimaru' either.
Rin mostly calls him "Emiya-kun" while Issei & Makidera, I think, generally call him "Emiya" right?

Well, yeah, I said relevant.
I guess then there's Kirei, but he usually goes for the full name or simply SHOUNEN.

I forget, is there a difference in how your viewed based on whether they attach an honorific or not? For last-names I mean.
I most certainly am. Caster's voice is impossible to forget, even if I knew her first as Lisa Lisa.

I think so. Just a last name is either being intentionally rude or to show close familiarity. As for Rin's use of Emiya-kun, it feels mostly sarcastic and teasing to me.
I made it into someone's signature, I'm honestly flattered.
You're welcome.
It's probably as awkward as keeping honorifics in English to me.
