Actually you can't refer to the historic figure Da Vinci as a man anymore Type Moon has retconned history itself.

I thought he was a man in Nasuverse, but got summoned in the visage of the Mona Lisa and was like "Eh. I'm cool with this."

I believe he made a new body for himself after being summoned.
Isn't there a doll with his original appearance somewhere around Chaldea that is acting as his "master"?

But I checked her profile again and it is not as specific as I remembered it, it mentions that he's the one who made his body look like Mona Lisa but doesn't elaborate if that was after the summoning. It also mentions the duplicate doll that acts as her master, but doesn't mention if it has his original appearance or Mona Lisa's.

I can't even really understand your post but, just because it's not explicitly stated in those words doesn't mean a character can't count as representation.

I sure know a bunch of trans people online found GO's da Vinci to be good representation, for what it's worth.

The reason people refer to d'Eon as d'Eon is because he has eighty-seven names, and Chevalier+[wherever the fuck this guy is from] was easier to remember.
