tfw your life gets destroyed because you spent a couple hundred dollars on a phone game
Downplaying something makes it not seem like a big deal, yes.
Spoiler:
I've played and read FGO, I no longer do. I don't give a damn about the fact that so many people still do and or that it exists as a thing, it has nothing to do with me as a person who doesn't play it. But I can't blind myself to the fact that it consumes everything TM, and renders everything in a franchise that used to have varied forms of media expression (not saying they were all good, but they were varied) into its sorely limited and junkfood-y format. This happens and will keep happening not because everything about it is bad, or because there are people who genuinely do enjoy its story, but because of the way the game works and rewards brainlesness and uncritical behavior in certain people who then end up spending so much for basically no content that the companies no longer have the incentive to produce any actually substantial content. I have no idea if this is a problem inherent to gacha games or due to some specific interaction between them and something like TM, but it most certainly is a problem that can potentially sour someone's opinion on the entire game.
I guess since Grand Order turned out to be wholly unrepentant about squeezing the life out of all other works and painting with it the thinnest veneer of a setting in which to exhibit its products and swindle money out of people for saucy pixels and voices that whisper sweet nothings to them it's not evil after all."You cannot inquire about the crime of one who has not yet been born.
There is no existence that is born as evil, that is unwanted by everyone.
It has no reason to be punished until it is born."
That's Castor's answer.
That man pardons "all evils of this world" for this reason alone.
"So you're going to forgive it? It's something that can only kill. If you know it'll kill many works once it comes out, it's a definite evil for us...!"
"Yes. Its nature is evil. It was made that way, after all. It was born to be evil from the very beginning.
It's not like other works. This is a pure ideology that people made.
But—even if its actions are evil, we have yet to know what it thinks of them."
"Eh...?"
What Grand Order thinks about its own actions...?
"Yes.
If Grand Order considers them evil and agonizes over them, or considers them good and laughs about them. That is not something we can assume.
If that thing has emotions like those of humans and agonizes over its doings, it is evil.
But if it has no doubt about its existence, it is good. Everyone wished for him to be that way, after all. If it has no doubt about its function, it cannot be evil."
"Wha—"
"Yes.
Those with defects at release.
Those who were not wanted, even before release.
It should show us the worth of worthless content: the meaning of creation."
"Would it be able to forgive itself after destroying and losing everything?
That's what I would like to know."

Is this what Persona players feel when they check out Christian sites out of boredom, I wonder.
I roll for cool factor, not waifu.
I don't really see how GO has sucked away everything else from the Franchise when we have two anime and three movies airing/being planned to air during its run time plus Extra Link and Strange Fake (which is still going on).
I can understand and respect this.
But I dont have problem with people thinking this game is bad.
I have problem with people thinking this game is bad while not actually experiencing it. Thats blind hate in my book and i have very low opinion on those.
I simply dislike it when the judgement is passed without actually touching and knowing the thing.
Not trying to point any fingers. This is just how i generally think things.
If you did play the game and hate it, i dont have anything to say about that, thats your right.

'Squeezing the life out of all other Works' seems a touch dramatic, Apoc Anime and Extella last year, Extella link and Last Encore coming up, there's still plenty of content coming out.
Of course, it's all Fate/ but let's be honest, Type Moon's other franchises were thrown into the shredder well before GO came into the picture.
Squeezing the creativity of the setting into a narrow tunnel to satisfy the requirements of its format is an easy criticism to make of GO and I wholly agree with that. Blaming it for seeming franchise dead end is on the other hand complete bullshit. There's SF, Case Files, Fragments, Prisma, Extella, various manga, anime and drama CD adaptations, Tsukire is supposedly still in development (hyuuu). The franchise has never been more varied. You don't like the content being created? Well, that's more of a problem of Typemoon becoming more mainstream and Nasu apparently not having much artistic integrity. Too bad, the idol has fallen.
