While I do agree that it gets old, it's still perfectly understandable IMO. TM is (presumably) getting new fans, and to those fans, all those age-old arguments are new to them. What bothers me more is that I don't really see many arguments or even speculation about new things, where usually whenever something comes up we just get either A) "Wait for GO mats", B) "lolmobage", or C) "It'll get answered in GO eventually".

Also, I haven't really seen much character discussion, in the way that people will argue about if Kariya was good or bad, if Tokiomi did anything wrong, the deal with Shirou's ideals, et cetera. Admittedly, I can't read FGO at all so I can only infer or guess, but given the shitton of characters in it, and how most of them seem to just pop in and out and lose relevance outside of their brief appearances, it doesn't really seem focused enough for people to talk about characters? In the sense that at most we'll see "I like this character, so I'll roll for them" or "I don't like this character, so I hope I don't roll them".

Alternatively, that Zero and SN and most of the older TM stuff have translations, so there's enough readers for them to have an actual conversation.

Well the Shirou thing with him making temporary circuits is stupidly dangerous.

It's a circuit in the electricity metaphor sense that a connection is made and energy is circulating, but it doesn't give you any of the spiritual wiring or switches that real magi have.

Well considering that bit in Hollow where she seems to have odd massage techniques, I would say learning submission moves is a thing she already had the mind for anyway.

To use your question yesterday as an example:

That question is pretty simple and it's asking for an answer. But to my knowledge there's no answer other than the fact that they probably put them in to make money.
Which is a big reason why a lot of answers about GO are "wait for GO Mats," because people are asking or at least seem to be asking for a clear cut answer.
When there is no clear cut answer or explanation, the reply can only really be "wait and hope" or "they probably put it in here to make money because they want to make money and it probably made them some money"

If you want to promote speculation or discussion maybe it's better to phrase your questions as "In your opinion, XYZ" or "Do you believe XYZ and why."
Like for that Avenger question, "In your opinion what is the lore reason that Avengers can be summoned in GO when the class container was made for Angra?"
In that case you can't really answer, "wait for go mats," or "lolmobage."
So you end up with opinions and therefore discussion or soul crushing silence.

See, with a question like that I wasn't really expecting any speculation regardless, but I'm really talking about broader stuff, like where you'll see pages and pages of discussion on shit like Sakura or Tokiomi or something. Thinking on it a bit more, stuff like lore and pure mechanics doesn't really seem to be too viable for extensive discussion, but character discussion is. The closest I can think of lore discussion spawned from GO was speculation about AotG stuff, which peaked I think with Extella and Babylonia.

Problem with that, as people mentioned before, is that all the new shit's GO, and most people can't read it and participate. (I do still think that even if we could all read, you wouldn't see arguments as extensive as the ones for the other works, but I can't really talk bc I can't read.)
