As much flack as KnK gets for armchair philosophy, I always found that its concepts work not because of their being particularly well written but because of the presentation. I can't really speak for the novels, seeing as I've only read coke no kyoukai, but even then I think that what I enjoy out of KnK doesn't come across outside of the films, the majority of which are examples of excellent filmmaking. It's why I'm so appreciative of the first movie in particular, there's nothing like it out there. I care a lot more about film than I do about literature, which is why the Kara no Kyoukai movies are by far my favorite TM works. I had high hopes for Shaft's Last Encore, and a couple episodes were very satisfying, but for the most part I was kinda let down. I'd love a 30+ episode adaptation of CCC by them, but I don't have much hope for it happening. Part of why I'd like Tsukihime (yes i know tsukihime never xd) to be adapted as moviess is because there's a lot that TV anime just won't do cinematographically and Tsukihime in particular would greatly benefit from a competent film adaptation.
