IIRC, the first week it was at the top, apparently. Probably because Grand Order hype or something, and it didn't really have any competition besides Detroit and DS Remastered, which were released before.


Besides, Kinoko said long ago that he wanted EXTRA (and related things) to happen, and in Grand Order he once again suggests that he likes that. I wouldn't really expect him to forget EXTRA/EXTELLA for the time being, TBH.

Extella sure, i'm indifferent toward it even though it's not really my cup of tea

The art and atmosphere when they actually had budget was great, but the everything else...

And Extella is okay/10, I'm excited for Link to come to the west because it looks improved enough to be a fun time/10

Link is a glorified side story so i won't judge it too harshly, but Extella was extremely on and off for me. One part it's good another part it's extremely jarring and tiring to read through.

The worst parts were definitely the My Room scenes, especially Tamamo's. I don't want to read bad romance scenes when I could be reading about the actual plot instead. Like they actually were the reason it took me months to complete the game, they drove me off so much.

But Link doesn't have those I think.

Nasu's always had some problems with unnecessary scenes and stories running too long, so if Link is shorter I'd actually take that as a good sign. I didn't think then my room scenes were too bad, but I will agree they played havoc with the games pacing at points. I'm somewhat worried that it might get worse in Extella 2, especially if they go back to an rpg style format.

LE is basically a case study for why editing and understanding the medium you're working with are super important to the creative process.

I like LE and will defend it's right to exist. I'm in fact planning to rewatch next year when all BDs are out to see the improvements (you don't delay BD releases for months if you aren't planning to do something beyond removving the darkening in certain parts of the footage (which is already done for the japanese Netflix release anyways)). I also enjoyed Extella a fair bit

I like Last Encore quite a lot too.

I only find myself missing Arcueid, and, against all my expectations, Lil' Ronnie and Vlad too. Oddly, I don't even miss Tamamo that much, although she'd better be there if they ever do a sequel, either CCC Last Encore or Extella Last Encore.

Wasn't LE Nasu's first try at storywriting in anime format anyways? I wouldn't be surprised if the story didn't actually come out quite like how he wanted it to. If there's ever a sequel, it would probably be the CCC to the original Extra.

Either way I just want more of the masters from the Extraverse whether it be in an LE sequel, another Extraverse medium, or Extella 2.
