Just like in the prologue of the first game, this starts out in media res. What's shown happens in June while the game actually starts out in April.

An OP2 sure would be nice though, preferably in the same semi-animated style as the other trails OPs have been. Those are actually quite enjoyable to watch for being semi-static pictures.

Honestly, the game seems big enough to have 2 opening songs, so I wouldn´t put it past them to do it.

And watching it again, I still love the placement/timing of the scenes with the lyrics.

Scene with the students about to take off on their train. "It's alright to forget your fears." A callback to Thor's original credo.
Rean losing control of his power. "Give into the madness and dance."
The animated fight between Rean and Azure Siegfried. "You can't stop this sound."
Cut to McBurn using his power. "Give into this stained world."
And that single word change in lyrics of "Amid the unstoppable tolling of grief's bell" to "Amid the unstoppable laughing of grief's bell."
