Karna comes off as otherworldly and powerful, which is fitting, and I do like the sound effects in the Karna vs Siegfried fight. That being said, it did feel a bit short to me.
that Karna v Siegfried fight sucked. It didn't even go how it went in the book, though maybe they'll expand on it a bit next episode.

I know that having Siegfried not talk for most of his screentime doesn't make for good TV... but this is supposed to be part of why Gordes is an idiot, so are they just writing that part out of the TV series completely?

Also the keeping Siegfried's identity part a secret was a big deal because later on Gordes wasted 2 CS on him to prevent his NP being revealed. What's the fucking point of that scene now

Nope. Series composition means he's the one in charge of adapting his own LN to anime scripts. Otherwise. he'd be credited as "original creator". You blame A-1. But A1 is not a person. If we want to look for the person behind the anime script and changes from the LN, it's Higashide himself

Not for me. Then again, I just saw the fight (which I liked) and nothing else because I don't know Japanese. And I didn't come to this show expecting a great plot anyways, given the source's reputation. Still, I was pointing out that Higashide is the one to blame for changes from LN to anime rather than some nebulous entity named A1.
The way people act like A1, it's like they believe A1 (and Aniplex) are part of some sor of conspirancy to ruin anime on purpose

I don't think staying 100% true to the source material is a thing you can do in an anime. Then again I didn't watch ep3 yet but there are a lot of people complaining about this.
It can be done if handled correctly. The Captain from "Hellsing" is a good example of that. Not a single word of dialogue and thus doesn't even have a voice actor. And yet he's one of the more popular characters in the show.
But yeah, disappointed if they are writing out that plot point between Gordes and Siegfried.
