actually it is "receiving instructions"
and its not "what Shirou says to the Red Servants""The war is completely in our favor. Five of the seven enemy Servants have been defeated whileall of ours are in good condition. We have captured the Masters who escaped. What would you
have me do?"
After a while, a low chuckle began to echo.
"Kill them, of course. Kill them all. Bring us their heads—they are all the proof we need for the
bounty. You can feed the rest of their worthless meat to the dogs."
as it stands, giving the scene of the Red Masters being all clamped up in a totally-not-suspicious purple fog does make me crease my eyebrow

He does receive instructions from them though, they're just irrelevant because the scenario is bullshit and the instructions probably amount to "looks like it is all in hand, keep doing whay you're doing".
the scene in the novel i think is a lot more telling than the scene in the anime
anime to a first viewer looks like "standard shot of evil people sitting in a room in evil poses with evil fog for ambiance listening to their evil leader"
the novel is like "5 of the seven are defeated" and you're like "he's definitely lying to them."

i can't believe they ruined the iconic "shirou talks to the red masters" scene, it is just unbelievable. i was so excited for it.
I bet he didn't even walk in circles around the room.

Seems pretty realistic when you have Achilles and Karna hanging around.

Yeah, in terms of power it's always been heavily stacked in Red's favor
I'm begining to think they didn't even get voice actors. None of them even got an exaggerated anime grunt.
Back home from work for hours and I am only now posting when I really should get to bed within the hour. Guh.
M-Mods?
Still feels a bit unfair, at least. Unconstrained, free-form discussion seemed only natural with, say, the UBW anime, since the VN's story was much more well-known (or at least that's how it's felt...) but Apocrypha? There are a lot of Fate/fans coming into it through the anime, even those that have already proved their 'worth' by getting into FSN through the VN first and consuming other parts of the franchise via its multi-media spectrum.
But then, I wouldn't like (or think I'd like) completely 'spoiler-free' threads, because that'd further divide up the whole discussion over the show.
Just hope people can remain wary of how much they openly and casually say about what happens later on or what "should" have already happened by now, lest they end up spoiling content that appears later in the show (some of which may have even been placed earlier in the novels).
Like that apparent difference? It's kinda small, but it still feels like a spoiler. (Might not this 'removed' scene, at least in general plot details/spirit, show up in a later episode in a slightly altered context?)
Vol 2 has been translated for over two years, and that's up to about where most people talk, since, you know, it's pretty downhill from there, lol.
But seriously, quite a lot has been out for a while, people here shouldn't suffer for others' inability to google, and we already openly talk about the first two major twists which happen in those first two volumes throughout the forum, and this very thread probably has a good percentage of its posts just as debate over the first twist. You're going to have a hard time not seeing spoilers unless you make a separate thread. Them's the pits.
Localizationing stuff
About the red master, I think it is better in the anime. It's crazy that they believe everything is okay

Wandering on internet
Okay, Arashi, but it *is* the anime thread, so I still think discussion doesn't need to veer off into territory better meant for a thread about the completed LN or even further-along manga. (Just, maybe, I'd like to see spoiler tags a bit more, as I already have seen in some recent posts? At least? Please?)
Anyway... SO SPEAKING OF ANIME CONTENT IN AN ANIME THREAD
I'm decidedly in the camp that appreciates the Karna versus Siegfried fight more so than not. It even got me to pay close attention to impact frames, which I hardly ever do while watching shows. Knew I caught wind of something special when those brief flashes of red passed me by in the midst of the fight.
Made me think "Now that f***ing metal" unironically.
Is that supposed to represent Siegfried bearing the brunt of Karna's scorched earth attack? Freaking, beautifully raw stuff, that.
Shame there was so much ghosting that went on during the fight, though. There shouldn't be any of that come the blu-ray release, right?
--EDIT--
As an aside, that first frame, coincidentally, reminded me of that one "All the Evils of the World" CG from FSN. Interesting.
