Did he? In my opinion, all other characters seemed pretty developed when I was reading the LN. Moreover, I think in this regard Apocrypha is even better than F/SN VN where every servant except Saber and Archer were left underdone.

Higashide is like those fanfic writers that are like "Wouldn't it be cool if we had, like, double the characters of FSN and gave them all story arcs?!" and then proceeds to lose steam halfway through. It's kinda funny.

Once again, from the perspective of someone who can't speak japanese i thought Blackbeard was alright?
He did his otaku stuff, showed some of his manliness, had some fun interactions with BBA.

From where i stand, i thought he was an alright First Villain.
