I just watched it. It wasn't that bad.... It's just too rush... So, they change the meeting between Sieg and Jeanne, now maybe they have more episodes for volume 2 now

the directing in this anime is really all over the place

i thought the achilles siegfried fight was a marginal improvement over the karna one it looked less over the top flashy but still pretty short

Every skirmishes and fight scenes felt too short. I think Shisigou and Mordred vs Golem and Homunculus is the longest one so far

Actually no, there is too many moments where characters look off or fighting animation not being all that great. Yet all Astolfo animations are super-polished, there are no corners cut. They clearly paid a lot attention (man-hours = money) to it. Which is fine. Except its not fine when other characters look off.

Overall I'd say Fate/Apocrypha is so far above-average by A-1's standards, and by anime standards in general. There's a lot of genuine talent working on this anime. It's a shame though that it really can't reach the heights that it potentially could in the hands of a studio that could give it more time.

I donk care about A1 standarts and i most definitely wouldnt call FA animation great. I dont care if A1 did better job than they usually do if end result still looks mediocre at best. And not only it doesnt look good by itself, first and inevitable comparisions for me a lot of other people will be other recently animated TM stuff. Which is 1) Ufotable 2) Prillya. But mainly ufotable. And FA is a major step back compared to FZ let alone UBW 2014. There are no excuses to be made.

its amazing how they had these specifically and yet failed to convey any backround details about Celenike. I dont think they gonna elaborate on her character at all, and "chopping time" just got one episode closer given they crammed what i thought would be 2 episodes into 1.

I'll say this though, if i understand correctly what happens during last scene i think its actually a good change. although if it results in cut jeanne-vlad dialog it would instantly go into bad change category.

Jeanne being there when Siegfried gave Sieg his heart and being entrusted with Sieg. Detective Jeanne finding out what happened to Siegfried is like the entire first chapter of vol 2.
Siegfried not forcing Sieg to swallow the heart. Like seriously.

Short fight was okay. It's meant to be short.
However, I don't like Siegfried's fighting style. It's supposed to be more tank.
And Achilles and Siegfried should have just tanked each others hits instead of parrying.

He's in charge of series composition so yeah. Looks like he had some qualms about Apo, which is valid, or he just wanted to change things for the anime.

Just finished watching the ep while trying to be in the perspective of those who never read the novel. I'd say it's decent. Siegfried's scene was pretty good and might make some ppl cry. The fights were somewhat better in flow compare to last ep but I still notice derp frames and when Achilles summoned the chariot it got kinda hard to watch for some reason, probably because of the flash effects. In the perspective of novel readers, they clearly changed and rushed alot of stuffs, holy shit. Now I'm kinda worried.
