i mean i know its gon be an absolute pain in the ass but how much more annoying exacly itd be for the animators

To be honest, I expect this to have 2-3x the amount of CGI work as UBW did. The budget's not going to be as high, the big action scenes generally have more characters and way more cannon fodder (especially the big battle in book 2), and the voice acting cost will be higher due to the significantly larger cast. Something's gotta give financially and more CGI is the obvious answer.

well, first of all, if you want him to be drawn Great, you`ll get only 1 animator and make him and only him draw the dragon in all scenes for consistency`s and flow`s sake,which would probably take weeks depending on screen time and motion amount
but this is A-1 so you cant just have 1 animator work on only this. so it`ll be at least 1 animator per cut of the dragon

or you can just add some small edits to some old CGI dragon that the CGI studio has in storage under the CGI dragons tag

Also a-1 isn't ufotable when it comes to CG. The reason ufotable shows come out sparsely is because it takes so long for ufotable to render all their digital effects. So yeah basically there isn't going to be much CG or there's going to be loads of shit (probably latter).
