It's most likely as you say Spinach. ItsaRandomUsername called it bromance. There are many reasons for Ragnar to want to have a threesome with Athelstan even though he doesn't want other men to impregnate his wife. Maybe he wanted to corrupt him as he was very pure back then. Or Lagertha wanted it and asked Ragnar if it could happen (a bit weird considering she's very loyal). It could also be Athe is just a moe slave toy for both of them but that's it. Well, it doesn't matter, it was a 1-time thing and it didn't even happen as the monk rejected the idea.

Despite how much I want Lagertha to get axed, her being left behind to take care of Kattegat while the Ragnarssons burn a good portion of England to the ground is a good idea. Looks like Finehair is going to try and take the kingdom while the boys are away Jarl Borg style. Unfortunately for them, it didn't end so well the last time. Ivar being good friends with Floki and getting a chariot was pretty cool. Just like his father, Bjorn is an unfaithful lecher.

I'm kinda disappointed there was no fight scene but considering the massive amount of men it would've either been too expensive to film or too boring and one-sided to watch.
