Ragnar saying I love you to Athealstan does seem weird, especially considering he invited the monk to have a threesome with Lagertha (he declined the offer). Maybe he's bi-curious.

It was a brotherly sort of love.
It's most likely as you say Spinach. ItsaRandomUsername called it bromance. There are many reasons for Ragnar to want to have a threesome with Athelstan even though he doesn't want other men to impregnate his wife. Maybe he wanted to corrupt him as he was very pure back then. Or Lagertha wanted it and asked Ragnar if it could happen (a bit weird considering she's very loyal). It could also be Athe is just a moe slave toy for both of them but that's it. Well, it doesn't matter, it was a 1-time thing and it didn't even happen as the monk rejected the idea.

Apparently Ivar the boneless is gonna become something like a villain. All that anger must lead somewhere.

I really like Ubbe
Dude's a bro.
I'm kinda disappointed there was no fight scene but considering the massive amount of men it would've either been too expensive to film or too boring and one-sided to watch.
