Animated Signatures

You know, I've thought of this before but those animated signatures some people have (this one is a particularly egregious instance, no offense to the poster) are seriously irritating, especially when it ends up positioned with two posts in immediate succession so you're forced to see more then one at a time on the same page.

It's not an enormous deal or anything, but if I were the mods I'd consider making some sort of rule on how much flashy stuff you can load into your signature. Even for me it can kind of hurt my eyes in some cases, and I could see for somebody with sensory issues it would be a real problem. Just something to think about.

It doesn't really bother me. But maybe make a rule to spoiler gifs in sigs? Seems like a pretty easy solution.

There's a far easier and less restrictive solution.

I usually just uncheck "Show your signature" if I'm concerned about cluttering up a page.

Would be nice to have that option in Quick Reply, actually.

While there's no set rule about signatures, generally the users whose signatures are disruptive in some manner, either due to filesize or the actual space they take up, are asked to trim them down. But in relation to an individual's aesthetics, I can't really recommend something beyond Adblocking the element or turning off signatures altogether.

Just disable images imo. I'm not sure how people live with images enabled, honestly. Browsing this place is just painful otherwise.
