    I'm a sucker for genuinely flawed protagonists who overcome their flaws without the cop out of TRUE LOVE or THE PROPHECY or Newtype awakenings or whatever other crutch a lot of writers like to use. Kotomine almost edges him out, but we really only dip below the surface in HF. Had we had more, concentrated Kirei goodness, he probably would have eclipsed Shirou.
