Kiritsugu vs Shirou

anyway, Kerry was not the MC of a multi route VN where we saw different sides of him, , and because is a prequel, his character had to work over pre existent stuff, so its kinda unfair for him

Everything that's wrong with Shirou can be blamed on Kiritsugu. I feel compassion for certain aspects of Kiritsugu's journey as a character, but he turns away every opportunity for help, solace, or redemption. Shirou, on the other hand, shows that he is a more dynamic character who isn't so determined to drag himself down on the basis of immutable, weird principle. And Kiritsugu passed on his weird values to Shirou and as soon as he was sure he'd screwed up Shirou's psychology completely, he was like "Ah, at last, I can die."

So, I blame Kiritsugu 2k17 and forever.

good points here , altought Kiritsugu is not the MC of a multi route novel where you actually make different choices. But agree with you and i voted Shirou

That's the thing, though. Kiritsugu is edgy but not in a "cool" way. It's just in a frustrating, sad kind of way.

I couldnt say it better myself. The thing is, he has no characterization in FSN, he is pretty much a memory , an ideal personified. And so far we just saw him as an actual character inside the Uroboichi reality marble , unlimited edgy works

Yeah, some parts of Zero sound cool and interesting for sure, but pretty much everything involving Kiritsugu strikes me as edgy to a literally unpleasant degree.

It's the main reason I have no plans to watch the anime despite all the praise it's gotten, since I have just about 0% tolerance for grimdark of any sort.

To be fair, what we hear of Kiritsugu in Heaven's Feel from Kotomine is pretty accurate to what we see in Zero. If anything it was actually toned down, since he didn't actually kill all the other Grail War competitors like he was implied to.

I'm usually not into grimdark or edgefests, but I love /Zero (and Madoka for that matter). I will never, ever watch Psycho Pass, though. Psycho Pass is Zero's worst character personalities mulled over and worsened with no women or sanity to balance it out.

I never really heard the term "edgy" until I came here. I just called dark things dark. Calling something edgy sounds like you're trying to make fun of dark things instead of taking them seriously. Which most people do now a days.
