On another note, I've decided I'll close entries past the end of next week. I'll accept changes to the background and such (for those who want to link it to Fort or anything) to sheets already handed to me by this point, but no more than that. You can expect character selection a few days after that.

Just asking but can spells increase to EX rank if such a rank even exist or it the cap completely at A rank?

Through the game, you can and are expected to improve your spells, even those that are A ranked. However, there is no character who has shown something powerful enough to be branded outside of the current scale (assuming we exclude Mahoutsukai, who are a different class of being altogether). It is not impossible as, taking the tournament aside, this is all about making a name for yourself by managing the resourses you have. So I guess it might be possible, if you put a lot of effort into it? You'll gain a lot of fame, too. Certainly it won't be easy, but I can't say you'll be forbidden from doing such a thing if you play all your cards right.

I'm assuming the characters can die if they mess up enough. But outside the battles, can they die too? Like experimenting with things they probably don't have any knowledge about?

I mean, to actually kill you off, it'd have to be something pretty retarded. Since, as things are, you should get high reward for high risk, expect penalties for messing up a gamble. Death, though, should not be amongst them, at least early game.

As for experimenting, well, that's kind of close to real life. Not only you will get penalties if what you try is particularly dangerous, but also your progress should be slow, provided you don't get super lucky, which will be more often than not the case. That's why it is wise to seek the guidance of other characters willing to help out. Hell, you can teach others what you know in exchange for good things if that is how you want to roll.

Seven is the limit for a standard Miracle.

Ways to enhance the number could be picking it as a Unique Attribute, or going out of your way upgrade your weapon through special methods. Without the proper connections, time and fame, it might not even be possible to achieve such thing.

Okay, selection is complete. You can find the results on the first page.

There is no way I'm going to post a review of each profile, I've decided beforehand I would make this simple as possible. Congratulations to those who got in and many sorries to those who didn't. There were an enormous amount of good profiles to choose from to the point where I got lazy and stopped adding challengers to the first page. The first seven champions are the sheets that I knew I could not exclude, going from top to bottom in order of what I thought I needed the most. For the 8th spot, I grabbed those who I thought would complement the cast I already had the most, and made a lottery (because I honestly couldn't decide). Naturally, the result is as you see. If you are curious, the other 4 in the lottery were Vritra, Racinger, Draconic and Bloble.

I'll be working more on the setting in the coming days with the goal to begin this as soon as possible.
