Anima Kiseki is a shonen roleplay where you will take the role of a member of one of four schools of 'Artificial Magic' and work to create a name for yourself. Although the main storyline is set around an important team tournament, you will find a number of different challenges awaiting ahead. Inheritance, loss, dependence, love, uncertainty... Be ready to face the troubles that torment a young person's heart alongside others, as you fight together in high-paced supernatural fights against others like you. And, if you make it to the end, ask yourself if you've found what you've been looking for, and if the journey you undertook was worth it.

Here is the rulebook.

There is no definite deadline for submitting sheets, as this is tied to my previous work, Fortissimo. This is mostly to plan ahead and see what kind of characters I might be working with. I may begin this project if Fortissimo's end is stalled for one reason or another, but Fort will always have priority as I am determined to have it arrive at its conclusion. As for number of players, five looks like a manageable number, but I will take as many as I feel like when the time for selection arrives.

If there are any doubts regarding sheet creation or the game itself, which are sure to pop up, feel free to contact me or ask in this thread. In any case, I will be accepting sheets from this point onwards.

You create a character profile and send it to my inbox. If it is acceptable and you get selected as one of the players, you may start playing once the In Character thread is up. Here is a sample sheet you can use as an example:

It's just missing the free F rank spells you get at the start and the NPC relationship part, but I believe you can add those yourself.

At creation, you can make up to 7 spells, one of which can be unique (Nobody can learn it unless you teach them) and one semi-unique (Others can learn it from you or from other practicioners); the rest being common (Once revealed, any character can go learn them on their own, without tutelage). There is no list of common techniques at the start, so you pretty much make everything up.

Just to be clear, I was under the impression that the Robotics;Notes was just the same reality superimposed over itself.

Everyone can materialize their own Robotic;Notes at the start, but it lacks any special effects. So basically, it'd be like a RM that merely alters the landscape. A stage select of sorts.

You do not read through the VN, nor do you need to catch up with the Fortissimo IC thread. Everything you need is in the rulebook.

Help me out cause I have to be misreading the overheat system somehow, it doesn't seem to be punishing. Heat resets every two turns, but it takes 12 heat to trigger an overheat. So even if turn one, I cast an a rank spell, turn 2 I cast an a rank, well that's only 10 heat, the reset occurs and I could do it again. At least by my reading, so what am I getting wrong

You read right.

So long as it is within narrative reason, nothing stops you from casting more than one spell per turn. So if, later in the game, you go for a B rank shield to protect yourself against an attack, then follow up with an A rank formula, that's 9 points. If you use 3 the following round, you overheat.

Ah! Ok, sorry, I didn't realize you could move that fast. I'm used to one spell per turn limits. All right thanks.
