I mean you could use him alongside her in Arts teams, but Merlin alone isn't the best pick for Vlad or Lance or etc.
It just seems like everything she does, Merlin does more. She has a defence buff for herself, Merlin has a party wide invincibility. She buffs a card type and heals, he does the same and increases crits. She stalls enemy NP, he ups the party and ads a damage buff. Her Np is better though. Also, waifu factor.

Tamamo's Curse skill is useful.... but then again, enemies won't get to unleash their NP's if you kill them fast enough.
Tamamo has a cooldown reduction, which is one of the strongest buffs in the game.

Be advised that Solomon’s chapter is basically a raid event: We defeat 7 hyper-powerful Demon Pillars with very nice drop rates on mats that can never EVER be fought again after we kill them. I found a chart on reddit.

The Ill-Made Knight, Lancelot du Lac.
Lancelot in The Once and Future King is probably my favorite fictional character ever.
Fate Lancelot is great too, in different ways.

Of course, since Gawain is OBVIOUSLY the best Knight of the Round Table, that means we must forever be rivals.

Though, I like Gawain a lot too, and he seems to like me more than Lancelot does, because while Lance only came to me once, Gawain showed up 5 times almost in succession, it was pretty crazy.
Both are terrible though.
Lancelot basically single-handedly destroyed Camelot by fucking the Queen, getting caught, murdering several KOTR (including the guy that did all the Admin Work) and then fucking off to France.
Gawain then put the final Nail in the coffin by not letting Lancelot come back causing Mordred's rebellion to succeed, getting his King shanked.
I mean I could get into this discussion once again and talk about how all of that is part of what makes them and the entire story of King Arthur great, but I'd rather not.
Tamamo's greatest thing is the party-wide skill reduction, which even on JP there isn't a good alternative. Arts is still the safest way to clear any hard content.
