Kaleido give you 80%, fill the rest with Association mystic code skill that increase np, SHOOOTTT
Drake Hog all the stars, kill the next wave with the crits, then shoot another NP with another servant for the next wave

Drake NP's wave one, everyone crits wave 2, and Fran finishes off wave 3. All max Golden Rule would do is allow Drake to fire off NP's both wave 1 and 3.

I took into account of the aforementioned terrible gatcha and a thought sprang to mind, if the rate up is a lie (said rate up not even being 2%) then why do we roll on banners? The simplest explanation being limited run servants or because they're new (look at boobyvista, she's certainly not limited) but what if you weren't aiming for gameplay and/or said servants weren't limited?

If the rate up doesn't matter and they aren't limited then I thought what should I do? Nobody rolls story right? I've realized that's a mistake, story is designed around the exchange system they made, it has a solid rarely changing list of characters. Sure it's rare to get a five star but if you limit the pool you can get copies easier, to that end my targets are

"Rate up is a lie" is a meme, obviously it isn't actually a lie, DW would get sued into bankruptcy.

Drop rate for a specific SSR is .052% and .093% for SR so unless you are ok with any gold servant or extremely lucky you shouldn't roll in the story gatcha.

Here's the generally accepted rates:

Chance to get:

Any SR: 3%
Any SSR: 1%

Rate-up SSR: roughly 70% (slightly upward of 69% to be exact, from what I saw of one of the guys who actually measures these things) of that 1%. If you roll when there's a rate-up Servant, 0.7% of your rolls will be the rate-up SSR. Another 0.3% will be the rest of the SSRs available in that banner all sharing that small percentage (god damn it Nightingale why'd you have to take Lartoria's place in that banner roll).
Rate-up SR: I've never seen anybody actually measure this, but I'd assume roughly the same percentage- if you get an SR, there should be a 70% chance it's the one on Rate up.

Your chance to actually end up with an SR or SSR doesn't increase during a rate-up, it's just that your chance of getting that specific SSR within the SSR pool/SR within the SR pool does.

I'm not gonna bother with the maths because that's a great big bastard, but if you figure out what your chances of getting one is, you'll have the chances for any of the others in its rarity.

For story gacha, your chances are just 1% divided by how many SSRs are in the summon pool. You've got a very very small chance of getting, for example, regular Arturia, because you've got an equal chance you'll pull Vlad, Nightingale, Mordred, Altera, Miko~n, or the other twenty or so in the story gacha, so your chances of getting her are something like 0.05%. Meanwhile your chance of getting her in her rate-up is about 0.7%.

Basically, if you just wanna discover new heroes, go for Story gacha. If you're going for someone specific, wait for their rate-up.
