Its not like the just pop up to fight and then wander off when done, they are actually there.
They don't all rayshift with you, though. Only those that rayshift with you or are already summoned into the singularity are "always on" so to speak.

The explanation we have is good enough to me, it's just there to not make the Servants you summoned complete non-entities plotwise, not to solve every instance of "why didn't we just Ea everything?"

Gudao probably doesn't have the magic supply to keep a team of 6 Servants up in a singularity hence only summoning them for combat. At Chaldea they have technobabble mumbo jumbo keeping them supplied, but I'd imagine that's weaker in the field.
Because friend points gacha is a more thrash gacha than quartz gacha. It can't even give you 3 star servant or 3 star CE thay you want from event unless you have 100k fp
