If you give him MLB sumo and bring support Waver, you don't need any of his skills leveled.
I think it would be worth it to give up another petal CE.

Now that I'm actually looking at the drops, I'm probably just going to farm petals on Hero. Much less efficient but + chance to drop Knight Medals so it evens out.

It's about an apple a box, and it's not as though gold apples are all that rare.
I had 100 golden apples when the event started. I've got 283 bronze apples in storage, which is roughly another 21 golden apples, and 12 silver apples.
If I hadn't spent a shitload of apples farming Hunting Quest I for seeds, I'd probably have enough apples to get to box 120-130 by now.
