I'm feeling nostalgic so I hunted down a really old AMV which I really, really love.

So, here have a little local flavor:

Baccano - Hate Fate

Normally I don't really like AMVs with little editing beyond cutting, but here the minimalism really brings out the harmony between the series and the song, which is very cool.

Darker than Black - Ignition

I am more a guy for AMVs like this one, hyperedited ones that look like every little second of it is planned, selected and edited carefully.
And that dude made this one in one week. ONE WEEK!

Waaah, those two were really good. I must say I enjoyed the DtB one more than the Baccano one, but that might be just because I actually watched DtB and not Baccano. Still, I'm not fond of "hyperedited" but I must admit that it worked really well with the song.

I am just a sucker for those hyperedited ones. Maybe it's my phobia from watching bad AMVs where a Linkin Park song is just chucked at random scenes with very little cutting effort. Those things also give AMVs a very bad name.

Ah, yes, I do know Auriga. Think there's another one called Magic Carpet Ride? Both are very good. There's good and bad for the ones with a ton of editing done, but my preference leans towards ones that cut and match scenes without adding edits and effects.

Like the Tutu video on the first page. That's the epitome for me

Yeah, it's good, although sometimes the blending of the real video seemed kinda weird.

Oh, and since were talking about minimalistic ones, here have another one from my local con. The Anime is Deadman Wonderland, it has very little edits, but goes through the story chronologically with a fitting song. It's one of those with little edits where you really feel the effort.
