Just because it's coming out today, doesn't mean it's an April Fool's joke.
This is yet another fanfic exchange contest, like Secret Santa and White Day, and follows the same format. Like last time, people anonymously submit prompts, and then receive one in turn to write, all of which get posted publicly and anonymously, for anyone in the community to vote on. We will be reusing the pool system from White Day.
The theme of this contest this time around is pairings, in which submitted prompts should be focused on the relationship between two characters. This isn't strictly restricted to romance, but also extends to things such as familial relationships, friendships, or even enemies. So fluff, fight scenes, conversations, et cetera, any prompts along those lines are valid prompts.
A General Summary:
- Participants will submit their prompts, three per participant. PM them to me.
- Once the deadline's up, participants are then given another user’s prompts to write for. Of the three, you may choose one to write in exchange. You can write more than one, but the idea here is to give more freedom of choice to the receiver, in the case where if they don’t like one prompt, they won’t be stuck with that
- Up until the writing deadline is up, participants send their fics to me. Once the deadline's up, all the fics will be posted anonymously into one megathread.
- The community (so, not only limited to participants, even non-fic writers may participate) may then vote on their most favorite fics out of all the submission, rather than use formal judging. At the end, points are tallied and a winner is declared.
Rules and Guidelines:
- Participants that submit prompts must write an idea in turn. This is rule number one. Even if you can’t finish, an incomplete submission is better than none at all.
- If you have not turned in your fic in a previous exchange contest (Secret Santa, White Day), then you cannot enter until you turn in your entries. OR: If your name's still up on the Wall of Shame, you can't enter until you take your name off there.
- There is no length requirement, but general expectations are 1k words minimum, 20k maximum. Of course, those are just guidelines, so even if your fic exceeds those, it’s not like it’ll get disqualified or anything.
- Be considerate of others and keep your prompts flexible, expecting one-shot length pieces. Similarly, please consider what kind of prompts people probably won't want to write. If the prompt is overly offensive or grotesque, chances are it won't get written.
- TYPE-MOON fics/premises only for prompts. Don't request crossovers.
- Not a rule, but it may help to note what parts of the Nasuverse one is familiar with, and what works they've consumed enough to be comfortable writing, as well as what one would or wouldn't want to write. It'd be bad for everyone if people got prompts about things they know nothing about. However, if you try abuse this privilege by blacklisting pools to dodge writing for specific users, you will be removed from entry.
Pitched ideas will be displayed publicly here, grouped by user (but anonymously), so you have time to think before prompts are distributed.
Submitted Prompts
The prize, as usual will go to the author of the winning fic, and may be either an illustration of their fic, or of another fic of their choice.
The prompt submission deadline has passed, and was 4/9. Prompts will be distributed after that period, and entry applications will be closed.
The deadline to submit a fic will be 7/6, 11:59 PM EST. You may submit your completed fic through PM, or link me a file over Discord or IRC. However, considering formatting and BBCode, forum PMs are ideal to preserve formatting.
