    imo, it just the arcade team development knows how to please players
    It's not really easier to make a 3D model than a rigged 2D sprite (mostly the opposite) but it does have the advantage that it can all be done in-studio, rather than contact the artist to make a new design that you can then make a sprite for.

    They are also doing a gudaguda arcade manga for the event release
