Code:Realize ep 10- So, while the scene of Cardia getting pulled into the sky by the Nautilus was dramatic and all, did anyone wonder why she simply didn't take her gloves off and melt away the tentacles wrapped around her? It's not like her arms were restrained, since she could reach out to Lupin and all.

The show has done a pretty good job of keeping Cardia from being generic damsel in distress so far, so it's a bit disappointing to see her forgetting to use her powers like this.

    Spoiler:
People turning into sand and grain

    huge magic effects

    giant sun flat snark

spirit of gin and the rest of the yuushas

    Wakaba swallow as well

INFINITY GAUNTLET YUNA PUNCHING FLAT SNARK (this is so funny I can't believe its real)

huge sakura tree (srsly nice animation here even if it is a stock effect up to 11)

shinjyu suicide removing the other gods after the sun god was destroyed by Yuna

I don't think I've seen Lapis in the anime.

I like the way they ended it.

    Spoiler:

All the heroes, past and present, coming together to convey to the Shinju that they choose to fight as humans, convincing Shinju to sacrifice itself to give Yuuna the power to destroy the invading sky god(s?). It was a fitting way to end off a series where the themes have always revolved around sacrifice and what you are willing to sacrifice of yourself for, having it turned around where Shinju offers itself instead. Granted, given how dire the situation was, it's about the only option that was left at that point...

Taisha is gone, good riddance; as much as they were trying to preserve humanity, their half-truths and hero systems they came up with were rather twisted... why couldn't they have come up with this very last iteration earlier on, which actually is a reasonable design, compared to the last?

So humans are on their own now. Question is, are the other sky gods still around, or has that problem been permanently dealt with? (Some speculation on the symbolism behind the mirror breaking is that they've been sealed off from humanity, but I'm unfamiliar with the mythology behind it to say anything myself). That might be the end of the storyline here, but there's always prequel material that can be done as well, I suppose.

I just finished Eiyuu Senki. Oh, so you can wish for more wishes. Better than a genie's bottle, then, although more effort to get it.

Finished Code:Realize tonight. Cardia in a wedding dress was the most adorable thing ever. But was anyone bothered by how they never explained how Lupin survived his fall off the catwalk? Even just saying he grabbed a ledge or used a hidden grappling hook or something would've been fine, but they didn't ever try to explain it.

The final showdown with SPOILERIsaac also proved rather anticlimactic. He literally appeared, gave a generic villainous monologue, tried to tentacle-rape Lupin and then got blown up. I wasn't expecting a Dragon Ball Z-style smackdown, but more of an actual struggle would've been nice. That and Cardia getting to do more for the climax beyond sit back and make doe-eyes at Lupin while he does all the actual heroics.

Seriously, after 12 episodes to flesh out Cardia beyond your bargain-bin Otome game heroine, it was a little disappointing to have her take such a damsel-in-distress role at the end. In general the finale felt extremely rushed, probably because it was adapting a much longer and more detailed VN. A lot of side characters and plot points (Alistair's ties to Van, and Saint's inexplicably magic-using organization that appears plucked from another story entirely) were woven rather poorly into the story as a whole. It was entertaining for what it was though, and definitely above the par of most Otome game adaptations. I had fun watching it.
