i will never understand the praise it got

i thought it was a fun game but its criticism of game linearity is so one dimensional and shitty compared to stuff like NMH, in the end the only enduring thing about it is the hella good design work

As a firm believer in style over substance the first 30min of vanilla Bioshock I've managed to play before growing bored still put it above any other shooty mctooty of its time period.

Infinite is quite good overall imo though, I've finished it two times.

It actually has a great opening but soon the third door you're supposed to walk through collapses and the whole thing creates a familiarity with all the backtracking that kills the cool freaked out atmosphere you had in the first few minutes.

and then theres a dbz boss fight to finally mark that we killed the mood completely

I never played OG Bioshock but Infinite is definitely good, it's just a bit sad that the gameplay brings it down. The atmosphere and everything else is great, but the combat just bored me.
