"Do you believe in magic?"
There was once a ritual known as the Holy Grail War where seven mages would compete for the chance at an omnipotent wish. It no longer exists. Just before the Fourth Holy Grail War could begin, the entire ritual was put to a grinding halt and abandoned forever.
Now, years later, seven Class Cards, malicious fragments of Heroic Spirits, have appeared in the city of Fuyuki, almost overnight. It is theorized that they are remnants of the Holy Grail War, but their materialization is entirely a mystery. Their appearance has caught the attention of a few notable parties, as their mystery is as valuable as they are dangerous. But although they are mere fragments, each class card contains the power of a Heroic Spirit, far beyond the range of a normal human. To procure one will require reaching the card in the Mirror World and defeating the Heroic Spirit in combat. However, the cards are continually gathering magical energy from the leylines. With each day, they become stronger and stronger.

Background:
[ ] Civilian: A normal person who normally lives a normal life. You do not possess any special magical abilities. In fact, you don’t even know about magecraft, outside of TV shows and novels. Your physical and mental capabilities are average, neither remarkable nor horrible. You may have been in a few scuffles here and there, but your combat experience is sorely lacking. However, because you are not a magus, you can see a scenario with a different persepctive from a proper magus. Your strong points are your common sense and your imagination. (AKA Illya Route)
[ ] Magus: A properly trained magus from a respectable family. You’ve completed your fundamental training and already become experienced in your unique form of magecraft. In the Mage’s Association, you’d be considered above-average, impressive but not amazing. You hold an ambition to further your craft, and a tenacity to accomplish such. With your abilities, you'll be able to intuitively manipulate magical energy easily, and you'll understand the underlying concepts behind a magical mystery quickly. Though you haven't been in a proper death fight, you're not fazed by the notion of death and have been in lower-stakes matches before. Seeking a chance of improving you and your family’s standing, you’ve applied for an apprenticeship with Lord Zelretch, ignorant to the troubles that it will soon bring. (AKA Rin Route)
[X] Super Magus: A magus who stands at the limit of the possible. You are a combat specialist with a mastery of magecraft rivalled by few in the world. In terms of both magical circuits and skill, you are definitely first-rate. Compared to a regular magus, you are several times more powerful, to the point of being practically super human. Your lineage has given you not only powerful magic abilities but also considerable connections, weapons, and ancient relics. For a good amount of your life, you've lived with the possibility of death on your shoulders and have the experience and skill to consistently avoid it. You should have no problems overpowering any human opponent. Although a proper heroic spirit would be out of your league, a mere corrupted fragment of one might be within your reach. [ ] Demi-Servant: A magus genetically engineered to be a vessel for a Heroic Spirit, not unlike a homunculus. You are an artificially born human, the result of a project aiming to control the powers of a heroic spirit by placing them in a mortal vessel. Thanks to this, you possess magic circuits powerful enough to house and feed the abilities of a Heroic Spirit. In exchange, you have a limited lifespan, most of which has already been used up. For basically all of your life, you've lived locked up in the research facility of the ones who birthed you, so you lack both experience and common sense. When the Class Cards appeared, your creators managed to procure one of them and successfully binded it to your soul, giving you the powers of a heroic spirit.
