Kaguya flinched at the harshness and foulness of Rinko's language, unused to such blatant display of rudeness.
But it's not like the delinquent doesn't have a point. Kaguya admittedly hasn't thought of what she would do if they run into some of those weird phenomena, nor had she truly thought that both she and Laura could very well die doing this investigation. For someone like her, dying seems so far off and surreal, something that won't happen to her and Laura.
'But Rinko-san was right, wasn't she?' Kaguya thought to herself. 'They said strange deaths have been happening all over the city... That means both Laura-chan and I could die if we continue...'
It's not like she has some hidden talent or ability to protect herself if the situation calls for it; as Rinko said, without her clique, servants or money, Shiratori Kaguya is a completely normal girl. Her status and title as a Queen doesn't mean anything outside of the school.
That is why her answer to that question is rather obvious.
"I don't know. I haven't thought about that."
Kaguya is an honest person; even if it hurts to admit it, she doesn't see the point of lying when she really hasn't thought of anything about Rinko's question.
That is why she can readily admits it.
However...
"But Laura-chan and I won't die horribly!" She denied. "I don't know what we would do when we encounter those weird phenomena, but we'll figure something out. We're doing our best, so I'm sure it will turn out okay!"
A truly outrageous statement that is said with conviction.
It was something that could only be said by someone who hasn't truly "seen" the world with her own eyes. Something only someone like Kaguya - who lived a strict yet safe routine - could say while truly believing what she just said, despite the possibility that the delinquent had revealed to her.
An innocent conviction and naivete that is borderline ignorant, even foolish...
But that is why Kaguya could do it. For Minato and all her friends that had fell to the mysterious happenings, the Shiratori heiress would march towards the unknown without hesitation.
"You agree with me, right Laura-chan?" The black-haired girl turned towards her blonde friend, violet eyes expecting her half-British friend would agree.
Laura Leonhardt, her best friend and fellow queen, is also the only one who could make her rethink her decision; as the voice of reason for the naive and inexperienced Kaguya, the blonde is her metaphorical brake so to speak.
If Laura agrees, then there is no stopping Kaguya from going through despite the dangers; her resolve would be unshakable, and it would clear away any remaining uncertainty in her heart.
That is why to clear away any doubts that appears from Rinko's comment, Kaguya eagerly awaits Laura's answer.
