Should we delete the Random Polls subforum?

Hello fellow community members!

The moderation team recently had a discussion about how we have a forum that seems to consist of absolutely pointless low-quality posting and nobody can quite figure out its purpose beyond "well its the garbage chute". As such we considered its deletion since its purpose is basically covered by people making polls in the 7th which also seems like it encourages low-quality posting just a tiny bit less.

That said this is kind of removing a feature and we are careful about that so we would like your input. Is there a reason you want it to stay around? If yes please voice it in this thread.

For clarification, this is not deleting everything in the forum like actual Polls. (Unless we screw up moving the threads again, which is quite possible).

It's just getting rid of the forum itself.

im just confused about the effective function of deleting the subforum if the polls will still be available per usual

That's kind of it, it's just superfluous and in my personal non-staff consensus opinion has been ever since it got made.

If it was actively harmful we would have nuked it already.

i have the feeling that having a dedicated place that says dump your dumb polls in here might incentivize people making dumb polls seeing that we actually did have a noticeable increase in people making dumb polls ever since we got a dumb polls subforum (initial DG and Kyo Polls Murder Spree excluded) but i dont have a study to back that up

i cant point fingers when we have staff in there asking about jeanne hair length and people pissing in the shower
