Nice blog post but the only takeaway here is that FGO is a palliative, an opiate, a vice to be indulged in safely and within defined limits - in other words an indictment of the very system which requires things like FGO as its palliation. Which is entirely congruent with what I've been saying. It is precisely because I am not yelling at a cloud, i.e. that I have identified something real enough to hit a nerve among FGO 'players', that people (such as you) are so mad about it. If you were one of those mythical beasts who unironically enjoy FGO, you wouldn't be replying here at all. My position would be simply incomprehensible to you. At this point the damage has been done. The situation is not redeemable. The only viable option is to burn it all down and start a new IP, but even this probably wouldn't work under the present circumstances of cultural production. You're asking me what I want in the way of new TM-branded content, but the truth is that it is the desire for more TM-branded content - more, more, more, always more - that has gotten us into this situation. What I want is nothing. If possible I would want less than nothing.

"A is B except when C" is obviously going to be wrong if you delete half of it so it becomes "A is B".

That's the point. Those that do know don't get mad, that is, they give you a pass for whatever reasons. (Also there's a lot of pseudointellectual shitpostery here, so really it's just honor among thieves or some other appropriate turn of phrase I can't be bothered to think about)
