Holy shit a Kamiya Fork, this is great

I love this

as soon as I heard Kamiya's voice in this episode, I knew it was a match made in heaven, what a perfect choice for a slimeball like Andrew Fork.

Also, Grancrest ended, what a show. I feel like the whole thing was half as many episodes as it ought to have been, but the ending was cute and the OTP survived and lived happily ever after so that fulfills my nice sweet fluff quota.

Hinamatsuri remained hilarious to the end. Who else would dedicate the last ten minutes of their show to a three year timeskip focusing on two characters who only had ten minutes of screen time throughout the series?

At only 12 episodes, the Caligula anime had to have a lot chopped out to fit in the time schedule and may only be a glorified advert for the games but damn if it still wasn't a fun ride to see the characters and key plot lines animated.

That epilogue in particular with everybody (even the villains) having returned to the Human World and trying to move on with their lives was really touching. Shogo in particular struggling to walk for the first time in ten years so he can finally go outside again was just hnnnnnrgh pull my heartstrings. <3

I really hope it gets a season 2, but I'm definitely going to pick up the manga either way, it's just too good to pass up.

Today on Golden Kamuy was a day at the races. Foxy lady Inkarmat finally showed up and immediately lead Shiraishi astray by gambling the group's money on horse racing.

Old man Hijikata is quelling a turf war between two local gangs...by killing them both. And Lieutenant Tsurumi is hunting down a grave robber. Good times.

October can't come fast enough, bring on Season 2! <3

Glad they kept Valkure designs, I absolutely loved them in the old show.

Tbh I count DNT Dusty as passable, but only cause I really dislike that shitty mullet OVA Dusty eventually grows out. Why the hell would he do it, it wouldn't help with his not getting any problem, it's the opposite!
While some DNT guy designs are just plain bad, some of them have potential, but combo with the art style in a shitty way. In any case, my biggest complaints are Wahlen (literal butt face, jesus fucking christ) and Bittenfeld (while technically not that bad, he is way inferior to OVA one who was so obscenely hot my screenshot button pressed on it's own every time he appeared on screen).

Oh they're going to movies next? I assumed they'd just pull a Hero Aca/Shokugeki no Soma and just do a new season or split season every year.

IIRC it's a new season that would be shown as movies.

Megalo Box FINAL ROUND

That was an awesome final episode. Full of feels and reals. Joe and Yuri slugging it without Gear to prove they are the real deal. But only one can be the champion...

I'm surprised but also not that Yuri survived in the end, despite the darker feel at the same time Megalo feels slightly more optimistic than Ashita in a paradoxical way and so they let Yuri live although without the use of his legs (presumably permanently).

Nanbu really grew on me by the end, and the scene where Joe's fight was reflected in his sunglasses and he was crying out of pride was so heartwarming.

That throwaway mention to Shirato wanting to set up a second tournament...sequel bait?
...I'd be down for that - "Welcome to the Megaloroom".
