And if the last part doesn't make any sense, it's basically saying that Amaterasu Caster is uber powerful and only Arc has a chance, however little it may be, of defeating her because of that power reduction thing.

like, again, I am not saying dartz is explictly right. I do understand that there is some theoretical wiggle room there. Its just you have to pass through several hoops to get there. If you only wish to say, lets not be hasty, we cant say for absolute certain thats the case, I agree, but TBH, if we are assigning probabilities, that it is referring to just arc seems the most reasonable and likely situation. To put that another way, leaving dartz aside, if you cant be satisfied with a just "we cant be certain" and need an answer one way or another, you probably actually should take the position that its arc alone lacking evidence to the contrary. if you are satisfied with leaving it a question mark leaning in that direction, thats probably a better and more precise stance.

Basically my reasoning is just that if Nasu wanted to say "only Arc can defeat her" he'd just say that instead of "only Arc can make the situation into one where she can be defeated". I think you'd only bother putting it that way if you wanted to facilitate hoop-jumping.

on the other hand, I can remember a few times where people assumed Nasu was hinting at something by use of some flowery phrasing or by the assumption of OOC knowledge only for when questioned about it, nasu would become legitimately confused and the actual answer would turn out to be the one he had already said it was.

You should realize from the mechanics of Blut der Schwester that Arc joining with someone defeats the whole purpose of them being there, since for them Amaterasu will still be unbeatable.

I don't really care what Arc can or can't do, I just don't think Dartz should be translating things. Also let the text say what the text says and leave the interpretation to the reader imo.

I just don't like how Arc's unarguably strongest ability in-verse which is the back up from the planet gets ignored in vs debates which results in her being severely underestimated just because the limits are vague. The quote with Amaterasu potentially gives an upper limit to it, but looks like I can't have that.

thats inaccurate. certain servants do not depend on stats for their greatest attacks, many utilize their noble phantasm, that is after all how servants work. even if weakened to 1/6th power, a servant with the appropriate destiny interference phantasm targeting the newly weakened stats of white face would be quite effective.
