I heartily recommend proceeding. Part 1 is Victorian melodrama with pseudo-Gothic horror and super martial arts. Part 2 is Indiana Jones with super martial arts - and it has the best JoJo of all. Part 3 is a bunch of enemy-of-the-week action scenes tied together by a standard plot, but it has awesome characters (including the best JoJo) and weird powers. And Part 4... Ah, that's when the insanity really starts!
Honestly, though, I'd recommend at least reading all the way up to the end of Part 3, because that's when the Joestars' rivalry with Dio is finally settled.

Fingolfin vs. Lancelot
Aus Feuer ward der Geist geschaffen,
drum schenkt mir süßes Feuer ein!
Die Lust der Lieder und der Waffen,
die Lust der Liebe schenkt mir ein,
der Trauben süßes Sonnenblut,
das Wunder glaubt und Wunder thut!

Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.
Shinkai: Set in the Edo period. DHO-centric. As mysterious figures gather in the city, a young woman unearths the dark secrets of the Asakami family.
The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.
Well, the Tolkienverse is a lot more subdued than the Nasuverse; you won't see people causing shockwaves just by attacking with a sword, for instance. On the other hand, it's also heavily based on mostly Anglo-Saxon and Norse heroic myths which do have feats which would be considered superhuman (slaying monsters, regularly defeating dozens of opponents, etc.), and Fingolfin is one of its foremost badasses.
I'd say that, if we fully translate Fingolfin to the Nasuverse (for instance, letting his superb fighting skill reflect on his agility so it's also superhuman), he would defeat Lancelot.
It would be helpful if you posted the English if you know there's a translation of it. For everyone else reading throwing up some japanese is no different than posting random text, especially if the entire reason you posted was so people in question would see something.
Or if you DO want to just post the japanese then at least translate the relevant parts so we can see what you're saying.
He never sleeps. He never dies.
Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
Tolkien is not "more subdued" than anything Lancelot has been involved in.
Morgoth stepping on him is described as being like an hill falling on him, yet Fingolfin takes repeated shots from the guy.
Morgoth being a guy who raises up mountains as shows of power. (Though he didn't use magic during the duel.)

That said I do think Lancelot probably wins this one.
Ragnarok, come day of wrath
That fallen souls might bear our plea.

O piteous Wanderer.
I dunno, I don't think that Lance has anything to put down a guy that tanked hits from Middle Earth Satan.

Not really what I meant by "subdued", though. For instance, Shiki Tohno is a normal human being in terms of physical abilities, and yet, when his Nanaya training comes to the fore, he can wall-jump and do flash-steps; in contrast, Fëanor is capable of fighting off a force of Balrogs all by himself and had to be taken down by an attack from behind by Gothmog, but you won't see him defying gravity in any way.
As for Morgoth's strength, he's weaker arguably because he doesn't have the full range of his powers anymore, not because he's physically less powerful than he used to be. Then again, his physical might was vague even before that, so I'll give you that.
He didn't tank those hits, he dodged them. If I recall it correctly, he only took two hits head-on, and the second one was the one that killed him.
