Obviously nobody's gonna guess Mordred right off the bat, she even has a NP specifically to prevent that.

We're talking appearance/character alone and from a general PoV. Not just from the story.

Mordred's character traits aren't very distinctive and she's really not alone here. Chiron, Astolfo, Jack, Achilles, Spartacus, Semiramis, Avicebron fit the bill too.

Fran, Shakespeare, Atalanta, Siegfried and to a lesser extent Vlad can be pinned down by a few choice words or features.

But I guess this also depends on how these heroes' lore are changed in-verse. I mean, I don't think anyone IRL is really going to guess Karna's identity just by his appearance and general conduct. Being white as snow definitely doesn't help.

Chiron is generic rpg npc with a tail

Siegfried is given away by the whole bared back thing, but to be honest I wouldn't say most of the Servant's identities are that obvious.

I'm not sure why you sound so surprised at people thinking he could have been Genghis Khan from the initial designs. The fact that there was an NP name seemingly connected to the Mongol Empire in Xanadu Matrix definitely didn't help on the assumption front either.

Not unreasonable, just funny that the guy people thought was one of the world's most infamous brutal rampaging warlords turned out to be the peaceful gentle teacher with the aura of a forest Chiron.
