Since they're an entire different vector of attack that can't be blocked by either antivirus or firewalls, I was gonna say they'd be either a firmware hack or just smashing things with a hammer. But that works too.

I mean it says right in the game that you can block Gae Bolg if you have enough magical energy to overwhelm the curse. Normal magic resistance won’t cut it though because it’s a NP.

But once the curse sticks your only options are to overturn fate (supercharged luck, MEoDP) or transfer the curse into something else you don’t give a shit about (what everyone else does)

Which incidentally is probably what Rin was doing with that substitute heart she made in the prologue to heal Shirou

Gae Bolg is a Noble Phantasm. It's on a different tier of existence. Sort of like how MR is on a different level than regular mages and their circuit-based magical energy flushing resistance.

I always thought that Musashi's Empyrean Eye just made all her attacks perfectly calculated to hit the target, sort of like a fancier version of Hrunting. I'd be surprised if it made her attacks literally unavoidable without some conceptual shenanigans. That'd be basically a Gae Bolg-level effect applied to her every attack, and would make her hilariously overpowered.

Actually, assuming I've followed this conversation properly it's far worse than that. Since not only does it not cost her mana (though hopefully it at least drains her stamina somewhat), it's also not blockable by lucking out (since she cuts every future but the one where she hits you) or by overpowering the curse with mana (since there's nothing to overpower).

IMO The best answer is "Git Gud".

Saber can dodge supersonic arrows in mid-jump, because she Git Gud.
Sasaki can make his sword strikes Break Reality, because he Git Gud.
Herk can die and come back 13 out of 12 Times, because he Git fucking Gud.

Its a p awsome sauce skill, but its not liker there isnt a way to circumvent it. Like a 100%def up skill.

Or auto resurect NP.

Or a bunch of magicky things other HS sure to have.
