Why not? Sigurd is lacking skill feats as far as I know (not 100% caught up on the translation but there's no one in the lostbelt he could fight with established skill except maybe Bryn). Lancelot is the most skilled of the KoTR so even if we scale Sigurd to Siegfried (which I don't think we can) Lancelot is superior.

That's like saying Cu is more skilled than Fionn because the latter hasn't had a decent fight

Beside Sigurd is a real fucking deal. He isn't German greatest hero for nothing. He's on the same ball park as Artoria in term of fame and achievement

Technically Sigurd is Northern Europe greatest Hero, Germany is Siegfried, well there supposed to be equal to each other so eh. But yeah he's like Artoria's equal both in pure firepower and melee destructive wise. Also thanks to his his Dragon Core skill he also doesn't get Hobbes by Master support. While Lancelot can be said to be more skilled then Artoria her focus is herself as king while Sigurds is him as a Warrior. With his skills, magic, and pure power he's kinda like what Cu was supposed to be if he was ever summoned in Europe. Pure badass

Weird how it goes when you think about it. Technically both Sigurds story and the beginning of Norse myth would have originated from that area we know as Germany before migrating upwards to where the culture we know from their was solidified with the tale taking influences from it. Then the story wound up going back to that land later to be told as the tale of Siegfried all with changes to make it fit more with the continental European customs.

Actually, it's the other way round. Germanic peoples originally came from the Jutland Peninsula, basically modern-day Denmark, and other parts of Southern Scandinavia, and they then migrated southwards and westwards.

Very true. Gunter was in the tale and real, as was Altera/Atilla. Also, since basically all the different Germanic traditions were mostly the same, aside from names, I think it could be argued Germanic paganism spread from the North as its practitioners migrated.

Not really sure since I haven't read anything with Arthur, but feat-wise he seems better in various regards
though that might be because we see Saber job a lot

Artoria actually has more skill feats overall, the best Arthur has currently is taking one of Hercules' lives in melee.

But I doubt there's meant to be any gap between Arthur and Artoria skill wise.

I rectified my statement about Lancelot to him simply having better skill feats. Although I highly doubt Sigurd is his equal in skill, it wouldn't make sense.

That's not the boost I was talking about. Even as a Saber, Arondight boosts Lancelot's Parameters.

Lance would have better base stats but Sigurd has those pluses.
